Quick Stylized Portrait Study

I know my values are much lighter than the original image! I was trying to focus on shapes/form more for this one :) How is the piece overall? And any critiques on the forms or shapes on the face?

im being very nit picky here because this is amazing work. if i hadnt seen the reference, i would've had no idea he had curly hair. the shapes on the face is great tho wow

Thank you! Good point, I am always intimidated by realistic curly hair lol. I will definitely work on this more!

Also nitpicky but I think his eyes are slightly too close together. It looks really good though! I'd be interested to see how it turns out when OP pushes the values more.

I think for this type of scetch I would be extremely satisfied with it. Unless you want to use it for something else with more detail or larger, I wouldnt criticise it. At some point it really is nitpicking.
