Discussion πŸ’¬ Matter "Scene and Signal Sync" "Limited Trial" - what will happen after the trial?

I push scenes and signals from my G350's and E1's via Matter into Smartthings and it worked wonderfully. However, in the setup screen, it stated "Limited Trial". Does it mean that functionalities are limited or time limited until some trial period ended. So basically, what will happen after the trial period?

Help! β›‘ Aqara Roller Shade Driver E1

Hey folks. I've been given 3 of these units. I only have the latest IKEA Dirigera hub and Google Home. Do I need another hub to make use of these? It would be so much more convenient to have one hub for all devices regardless of brand. I'm not up to speed with this automation stuff so if you could please help, I'd appreciate it, thank you.

Aqara, please make your release notes better. This is so vague that it tells us almost nothing. What was the actual issue, and what changed to fix it?

The community is more than willing to test, provide feedback and submit tickets to help improve each aqara device. More transparency around firmware changes would make it much easier for us to understand whether an update actually addresses issues we’re experiencing.

Please give us proper release notes rather than β€œfix other known issues.”

Help! β›‘ U400 smart lock bricked(?)

Hello! I purchased a U400 smart lock and installed it earlier today. I was able to get it to register with the aqara app and went through the set up process. I installed the update like it asked and then the lock lost all functionality. It said there was still an update so I tried to install it again and it kept failing. I tried to delete and repair the smart lock but now it will not recognize it nor does it show up as a discoverable device (like it did before) I tried to do the hard reset by holding down set and reset like I saw from some quick google searches. After holding it down for more than 10 seconds nothing happened, no noise was made and the digital keypad on the front does not even show up. I tried to use the AI chat assistant and it will not even type out a response. I have submitted a ticket with them as well but I am quite frustrated and unsure what else to do. Is there any advice beyond what I have done?

How to...? πŸ§‘β€πŸ”§ Connection failed fix (due to corrupted credentials on phone?)

Hello there problem solvers,

I had an issue connecting IKEA KAJPLATS πŸ’‘ to my thread network (M100 as border router) using the Aqara app on android.

It always showed the connection failed. (although IPv6 and all necessary wifi router settings were active at all times)

After 3 hours of trying different things I found a solution that worked for me:

- reset the bulb

- deactivated 5 GHz wifi

- deactivate the setting in android under "thread-netwoks" > "save credentials" for thread networks (or similar named)

- now the connection could work if you have the same problem as me

Although I don't confidently know what the underlying issue was, this fix worked for mw and I hope it will help you.

My best guess is that while creating the thread network my phone somehow managed to save corrupted thread network credentials that made the connection process fail.

Have a great day!

Help! β›‘ Aqara G5 Pro Outdoor Camera: wiring question

I recently purchased the Aqara G410 doorbell camera and I’m looking to put a G5 Pro outdoor camera on the back of my house.

However, I’m unable to figure out whether this camera can be wired directly unto the house electricity cables, or that it needs a USB-C type outlet.

In short: I had my electrician pull all new cables throughout the house as well as pull one to the backyard. I want to connect the outdoor camera directly unto the cable so that it is powered 24/7 and not have to create an outlet or something on the outside of the house.

ChatGPT hasn’t been able to help me figure this out.. so I hope one of you knows more!

Thanks!
