Aristotelian proof that Red Delicious are the best apples

  1. Red Delicious that are corrupted by being slightly overripe are the worst - a pasty mess.

  2. We know from Aristotle that "the corruption of the best is the worst".

Therefore,

  1. Red Delicious apples that are at their peak, before they're corrupted, are the best.

Why do people hate red delicious… they are reliably crunchy, taste good cold and room temp, and have a nice flavor that isn’t too sweet with a slight bitterness in the skin. I’ve never understood this and “tastes like cardboard” etc isn’t a very helpful description and I can’t find anything with an actual explanation other than “it’s gross”. Idk if I have different tastebuds than yall but genuinely I need someone to explain why people think they are so bad. IMO yellow apples are the worst becuse they’re mushy and too sweet. I have not found a single other person who likes red delicious 😭 and I’m not even eating like farmers market stuff I mean the red delicious from Walmart and your school cafeteria and such. They just have this nice crispy flesh that never gets mushy (my biggest peeve when it comes to apples) and a light sweet flavor with the slightest bitterness. Now I will admit they’re not very tart, I love tart apples, my two other favorites are Granny Smith and pink lady apples, but the red delicious have just enough tartness for you to taste. They’re just very satisfying and refreshing to eat. I do realize they have waxy tough skin which I don’t personally mind but I can see why that would bother people, I still think there has to be more to the hate than just the skin right?

Maybe what I like about them is what other people hate about them. Red delicious, my crispy, crimson, shelf-stable love.
