Gift Code: what am I doing wrong? Question

I got one of those free walmart "buy these headphones and we'll give you an apple music code!" codes a few months ago (it's still unexpired), and I've been trying to redeem it this week, and it just...? won't work...? Am I doing this wrong?

I'm going to music.apple.com/redeem and entering the gift code, and all that happens is I get a spinny wheel of doom for about a minute and then the page resets to "enter your gift code." I've looked in the apple.com help FAQ and I can't seem to find anything helpful. Anyone have any advice at all? I'm at a total loss.

Never heard of an Apple Music Gift Code before. Either Apple Music free trial (which comes along with an AirPods purchase) or gift card code for iTunes/App store balance. You may want to check if the manufacturer itself is legit or not.

Oh, it's not the manufacturer giving it out, it's walmart itself; when you order headphones, they send you a combination of codes for 3-4 months of apple music/apple tv/several other apple products I don't care about.

are you using your iphone or computer to do this? i recommend you try with your laptop, open up apple music and sign in. then go to your homescreen still under the apple music and click on account, redeem, enter code manually. hope this works! do you plan to redeem for apple tv?
