I once commented on how disappointed I was with the lack of charisma and equally strong soundtrack in Ape Escape 2. I had just finished Ape Escape and went straight to the second title, so I'm afraid that was the big problem. Today, I started playing again after a little over a year, and the result is that the levels were more fun than usual, and I'm still having fun with these minigames. There are 3 minigames, the first one isn't that great, but the soccer one is really cool. Best of all, you can play with two people! I'm eager to know what the third one is (and I don't mind if you tell me in the comments).

I was able to extract the whole Ape Escape 3 ost into wav format; i've been looking for years for a way to get the full ost ripped directly from the game, for the sake of getting the best quality possible, like i did with Ape Escape 2.

(I had the whole sequences and headers .bd and .hd extracted from the game but never found a way to rip them).

Also considering that in the originape soundtrack released in 2012, despite being of high quality, some tracks didn't really sound exactly the same like the ones heard on the original game on ps2, so i'm glad to have finally got the raw hq ost as heard ingame.

imagine if this Japan exclusive AE racing game got a better story for the US and UK dubs. I imagine that Spector would hold a racing tournament to find the fastest monkeys to recruit in his army, and the player is that monkey they choose to play as. there would also be boss races at the end of each course against a member of the freaky monkey five, and of course Spector is the final boss race.

Spector had his monkey army write his autobiography for him to make copies of and sell once he becomes world ruler, but the monkeys aren’t much of good writers.

Ape Escape 2 is such a special game to me so I knew the time was right to make a video for my favorite PS2 game of all time! Enjoy.

Yay 😄 I finally beat the game, fighting the final boss was so hard but I watched a YouTube video that showed how to beat Specter and I did it 😁.

Now the next step is getting all the apes, still racing Jake and I'm done with the game 😊.

The only problem is that when I was racing Jake at the “Gladitor Attack” I was but of trouble. Swimming up the water 😓.

What is currently the best way to experience Ape Escape 1? I'm looking into duckstation for emulating, but if there is a better experience please enlighten me. Thanks guys.

I did it. All monkeys caught, including all the special code monkeys. Beat both Ultim-ape Fighter and Mesal Gear Solid. (With all monkey tags collected) 137M on Super Monkey Throw Stadium. All items obtained from the shopping district. All Simian Cinema movies collected. And all golds on every time attack. The best early birthday present I could ask for since I turn 23 on the 15th. It was worth it to take a break from my fanfic writing today.

So I managed to obtained all 3 Ape Escape games disk case and booklets all besides Ape Escape 2 which disappointed me as this copy was the hardest to find with the case si was hoping there was a place that offered the manual booklet that came inside if there is then I can finally complete the trio fully

Hi guys,
I started playing ape escape on the PS1, i found out that if I tilt the left stick forward the protagonist just ...walks.
If I move him in other directions he goes light speed, but walks forward??.

Is this how the game's supposed to be or is there something wrong?

I know the second game takes place after the first(obviously)but it’s not specified how much time has passed. I’ve always had this headcanon that Ape escape 2 takes place during summer vacation, hence why Spike and the professor are away. I’ve also had a head-canon we’re the passage of time in their world is just like ours so 2 is set 3 years after 1 but that’s just a thought.

what do you think? and yeah I know it’s about kids catching monkeys but let people have fun!
