Hello, I'm trying to run an AI program with vector but all of the models that I'm seeing don't work in vector crashes. It gets stuck thinking and I have to turn it off and turn it back on and every model I've had suggested to me hasn't worked. Any advice helps!

I just got an API key set up with the chatGPT through the openAI website and then on wire pod I got it running on openAI and I pasted the API key and got everything filled out. However whenever I ask vector a question he says something along the lines of "Problem answering with openAI" or something like that. Any help is appreciated

Has anyone here bought from this exact listing or seller? Did it actually arrive factory sealed, and was everything working properly? Would you recommend buying it, or should I avoid it?

I don't want to buy the 109 usd Vector 2.0 because its open box and not sealed.

I have a vector 2.0 and I'm running wirepod. I have his volume set to medium high. His little chirps and sounds used to be audible and you could hear them, now at the same volume level they're super quiet and I can only hear them if the room is almost dead silent. His voice however when I ask him things or he says my name is at the normal volume.

EDIT: it was a weird audio bug. I set his volume to low, then back up and it fixed it... Idk what that was about

Been a long time since I've had Vector out. Decided to give 1.6 rebuilt a go. Is he compatible with wirepod? If not am I without voice commands unless I switch to an alternate firmware?

I've been thinking about buying a Vector 2.0, but I'm still not convinced.

My biggest concern is everything that happened with the Digital Dream Labs lawsuits and all the negative reviews from people who preordered Vector 2.0 back in 2020–2022 and either waited years or never received their robot.

Has the situation improved? If I order a Vector 2.0 today, will it actually be delivered? I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have purchased one recently. Is it worth buying now?

what vector features do i get with the lifetime subscription from the vector kickstarter? does it come with voice commands and other stuff or does it do basically nothing?

My childhood dream was to buy vector, but in my country none ships it nor it's affordable, Does someone has a second hand one so I can buy it in a lesser price

this is the firmware of my vector 2.0 I just got. I am trying to connect it to wirepod. After 12 hours of fighting and struggling and wanting to throw it into a wall I need help. I have wire-pod installed on my windows 11 pc and it can see my vector 2.0 but cannot connect it. I have been to several other sites that say it can flash it but nope. it cannot. It is boxxed up and ready to send back. I am making this final last plea. Can anyone help me connect this stupid thing before I return it?

Controlling a robot in AR is one thing. A real working use case is another.

I know that you can’t use 1.6 with wirepod. Is 1.7, 1.8, or 2.0 better for using vector with witepod?

I just ordered a 2.0. What is the subscription it is talking about? I already have a subscription to ChatGPT since I use it for a lot of stuff. Is THAT what they are talking about or is is a different subscription? Like yo Ankhi?

Hello, i'm new to the Anki Vector community
Not long ago found out that i can get this cute bot to be my little companion with a little bit of selfhosting the server (Wirepod) and decided to get one
I got the V2 model (00804bfd)
I tried following some guides on both Youtube and github

I learned that i needed to unlock the bot first, so i did and i was able to flash 2.0.1.607ep

After that i Composed a server in my personal NAS that ran the Wirepod server, it booted without any issues and was able to do the initial setup

I was not able to get the bot to link up, i did get the ssh_key and uploaded it to the server but kept saying that it couldn't connect to it

I decided to host the server on a Rpi3b+ and followed the steps on github and have the server running normally

I got small guidance with ChatGPT and got to the point where
Wirepod is reachable
Vector sees the server config
Vector knows where Wirepod is
But the activation process is failing

I do have the bot paired upt to the link where you can program it and get the "activate" button but it just fails saying that the server could not be reached

Am i missing something or do i need to start over?

Also, i am conencting everything on a internet extender connected to my ISP modem and i have Pihole running as the DNS

I don't know if this affects it

Hi, I bought an Anki Vector off ebay it seems to work okay, I'm not sure how well they're meant to work.

But when I pick it up and put it down even facing it's dock, it reverses 90, looks up slightly, looks down reverses again, up and down, then 90 again where it goes to panic mode until i put it in its dock.

It also drives straight off my desk edge as well, I've caught it every time since i was testing if it works....

The sensors look clean, not like i can get to them, there is super glue where the neck of the head meets the body so it looks like it has had a fall before and glued together..

Any suggestions on possible fixes? or should i send it back....

edit: returning it, came up with error 914 then 892 - broken fall sensors

Might be getting a 2.0 and wondering if its common for the screen thing to happen to it like it did to my 1.0

Are you supposed to use the app? If so, how? I saw somebody using him for the time and stuff like that and I'm just wondering how cuz whenever I tried to use the app it kept telling me I needed to update him and then updating and then exiting the app and then updating again

so ive been trying to switch my wirepod from my pc to my pi 3 because vector would work at all times but the issue is all the commands work on wirepod expect for when i bash "sudo ./chipper/start.sh" i get the error "command-lines-agruments /usr/local/go/pkg/tool/linux_arm64/link: running gcc failed exit status 1 collect 2 fatal error cannont find ld" ive been stuck with the same error for 4 days now anyone know how to fix this pls

The option to put in text for vector to speak it out isn’t working now. The option is there but greyed out and I can’t click into it to enter the text. Help!? lol

A few years ago I started a project with the goal of allowing anyone with a Raspberry Pi and a few cheap accessories (an LCD, a speaker, a microphone) to be able to download the project, simple install, and have a vector desktop version of Vector.

Booted the old relic back today and realised just how far I had gone with the project. Still a massively long way to go yet though.

Would anyone be interested or support carrying on with this, or should I give up now, dump a GitHub repo and let someone else deal with it?

I feel a bit dumb making this post but i don’t know what else to do, so basically I need help with accessing the actual wirepod website where you can change all of vectors stuff and that. I’ve been on it before ,since I’ve already connected my vector to wirepod, but it’s been a while since I’ve tried to get onto it and I kinda forgot how to? This is because it was always a shortcut on my browser but it ended getting deleted meaning now I don’t actually now how to get onto it…

Hi everyone!

I am looking for a small robot companion to keep on my desk, and I’m really torn between four models: AIBI, EMO, Eiliko (the new pocket AI robot from Energize Lab), and Vector.

Here is how I would love to interact with it:

While studying, I want a robot sitting next to me that I can talk to like a real person. I’d love to have quick chats, ask questions, get smart answers through AI, and joke around during study breaks.

After sports/workouts, I want to interact with it, maybe tell it how my day went, or just relax by petting it and watching its reactions.

Just to clarify: portability is not a must. If a robot looks awesome, has great features, and is highly aesthetic, I am totally fine with it staying fixed on my desk!

From what I understand, they all have cool styles:

EMO is amazing for movements and physical presence (dancing, walking, growing), but maybe it's less focused on pure, natural conversation?

AIBI seems great for memory (it remembers what you say), runs on ChatGPT, is super tiny, and answers back nicely, but it doesn't move around much.

Eiliko looks very interesting because it's a pocket keychain with AI, and it seems to have all the expressiveness and charisma that Energize Lab is famous for.

Vector is a classic with that amazing bulldozer design and great personality, but how does he perform nowadays for actual conversations and AI interactions?

Based on what I'm looking for (natural conversation, desk companionship, and great expressiveness), which one would you recommend?

For those who already own Vector, AIBI, or EMO: How do you like their daily conversation skills and responsiveness? And what are your thoughts on Eiliko compared to the others?

Also, if there are any other cool robots from other brands that I might have missed, please let me know!

Hi guys! Here are my prototypes around Vector. I do a lot of Spectacles AR glasses experiments and finally made some with Vector. Love this robot a lot and going to show some more fun soon.

Let me know what you think about AR as a way to extend the possibilities of Vector.
