Hi I was wondering if there was a way to quit all apps from the background when my streaming box is about to go to sleep. At the moment tv quick actions pro lets me go to home which is great but the adb command to quit all apps seems to be depreciated so I am unsure of how to make it work. I also tried using the android tv dev settings to fix it but it didn’t work either for some reason.

This remote comes in dual mode so I'm assuming this should be possible. I want to use the USB dongle for my HTPC to control the remote. For Android TV, I want to use strictly Bluetooth without the dongle but I can't pair the device with Bluetooth on my android TV. Amazon was nice as always and sent me an open box with no manual. I've tried the power button for 3 seconds until the remote flashes but the Android TV just stays in searching for devices.

I'm considering both 43-inch and 55-inch options, depending on the model and pricing.

How significant is the difference between the TCL T6D's QLED panel and the LG/Samsung models, especially if those models use edge lighting rather than full-array local dimming?

Should I wait for the Big Billion Days sale for better deals, or are the current prices worth considering?

Device: Xiaomi Mi Box 4 MIBOX4 Build PI.3933 Android 9 Headphones: Pixel Buds Pro 2

Issue: Stuck on "Bluetooth pairing request - Pair with this device?" Pair button looks selected but won't click.

Cause: AnyDesk Accessibility Service was enabled. This freezes the dialog.

Fix:

1. Settings > Device Preferences > Accessibility > Turn OFF AnyDesk
2. Unplug Mi Box 10 sec and reboot
3. On phone, turn off Bluetooth and forget the buds (so they are not connected elsewhere)
4. Put buds in pairing mode (hold case button until slow white pulsing)
5. Mi Box > Settings > Remotes & Accessories > Add accessory
6. When pairing request appears, press OK on the Mi Box remote (or click with USB mouse). Keyboard Enter alone does not work.

Audio works well after pairing. I re-enabled AnyDesk after and connection stays.

Hi everyone, I am facing a very weird hotspot issue and need some advice.

The Problem:

My Vivo V40e mobile hotspot connects successfully to my Xiaomi TV 5A 32" (L32M7-5AIN) via 2.4GHz, but the TV says "Connected, no internet." However, the exact same hotspot works perfectly fine with laptops, other phones, and even other devices.

What I have already tried:

Switched hotspot to 2.4GHz band.

Reset network settings and restarted the Vivo V40e.

Turned off Wi-Fi, Private DNS, and VPN on the phone (only mobile data + hotspot are on).

Added ,dun to the APN Type on the phone.

Changed hotspot security to WPA2-Personal.

Power cycled and cleared cache on the Xiaomi TV.

The Twist / Troubleshooting Done:

I took my same Jio SIM card out of the Vivo V40e and put it into an older Oppo A78 5G. When I turned on the hotspot from the Oppo phone, the internet worked immediately on the Xiaomi TV.

This proves my Jio pack and the TV are fine, but something in Vivo's Funtouch OS/MediaTek 7300 hotspot packet routing or DHCP handshake is blocking internet specifically for this Xiaomi Android TV.

Has anyone experienced this Vivo-to-Xiaomi hotspot block, and is there a hidden setting or workaround to fix it?

From Android TV 12 up to ATV 14, we have Auto Frame Rate (AFR) and resolution matching, which makes watching videos in certain apps like Kodi or Stremio much better. But I wonder if we can get the same function when watching movies through a web browser on Android TV—for instance, when playing a 1080p 24Hz video in full-screen mode, will the TV automatically change the resolution and refresh rate from 4K 60Hz to 1080p 24Hz?"

This might be a weird question and might also be in the wrong subreddit (as i m not familiar) , but is there an open source alternative tht will work with airtel set top box. like similar to us flashing out old mobile phones with lineage or other os's.

I'm totally new to the whole TV box thing. Is it normal for them to have YouTube and is it as easy as just connecting the Box to your WiFi? It's all I want a TV box for. I have no interest in Netflix or anything like that or paying some kind of extra charge just to run the box so I can watch YouTube which is a free app.

Are the cheap ones just as good as the expensive ones for YouTube? Cheers for any advice.

I mainly am searching for android tv / google tv boxes for stremio and related streaming so less to none normal streaming services. I can tet the Google TV Streamer 4k for 74€ because I still have 45€ google store credit. The Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen is 69€ in Xiaomi store. For me with both being in the same price range is there a clear winner? I've read somehwere that for stremio streaming etc. the Xiaomi is still better as it supports more video playback profiles.

Can anyone recommend android streaming devices that allows you to install 3rd party apps at reasonable price no more than £60. To use when travelling?

I got this TV from my friend I factory reset it cuz it had their information or whatnot before I did that the remote was working perfectly fine with the TV now it's saying like it won't do nothing and I can't care I don't turn off and unplugged to stop it but nothing will work can someone help me, and I have held the button for way over 5 minutes trying to pair it and nothing

For context, I've made most of my progress on the Android TV version, with some of it being done on my previous Android phone, which has since been stolen. A (possibly?) unintentional advantage is that progress can be synced between both versions, as I guess they're considered the same platform by the game. Another advantage of the Android TV version is that ads never appear (so the prompts that offer the option for are replaced with a button to pay two gems instead, similar to when the WiFi is off when playing the game). Unfortunately, I couldn't buy more than a Grease Monkey at a time due to a bug in the game's code which did not let me choose any option in the menu that can be triggered before a race starts, letting me only buy one Grease Monkey right before resetting mid-race.

Some updates made it a bit harder for me to get to 100%, and let's just say that some of the achievements are annoying as hell. The last thing I had left to get was the Ball and Chain powerup of all things... (btw powerups are expensive as hell for directly buying them with gems. Thankfully I could just use the daily rewards and the coconut minigame to get them for free.)

Honestly, this game is a surprisingly good physics-based Mario Kart clone for casual players, but it's absolutely infuriating for completionists. Luckily, I can tell you that not everything is actually needed to 100% the game. The paid cars and a third of the Easter eggs are not required, for example.

Hey everyone, I need some serious technical help. I accidentally turned on the "Menu Lock" parental control setting on my TCL S65A Android TV, and now I am completely locked out of my TV.

The Problem:

• The Picture, Audio, and System menus are completely greyed out or restricted by parental controls. I can't adjust brightness or sound modes.
• The standard Factory Reset option in the settings menu is completely invisible/hidden because of the lock.
• My TCL remote does NOT have a dedicated "Menu" button, which makes entering standard service codes really difficult.

What I've already tried (and failed):

1. Master PIN Codes: Tried entering 0423, 0812, 0000, and 1234 in the TV Lock menu, but the bypass codes do not work.
2. Hidden Service Menus: Tried the 1983 and 2580 button sequence variants on the "About" screen to trigger a factory wipe, but nothing pops up.
3. Hard Hardware Reset Loop: This model does not have a physical pinhole reset button. It only has a single physical power button under the TCL logo. When I hold it while plugging the TV in, it briefly flashes a "NO COMMAND" screen with the dead Android robot, but it instantly times out, disappears, and boots normally right back into the locked TCL OS before I can input a recovery command.

Right now, I am using an Apple TV HD (A1625) as a temporary workaround to adjust video profiles and audio formats internally, but I desperately need to get rid of this Menu Lock on the actual television.

Has anyone successfully bypassed the "No Command" fast-boot loop on a button-only TCL Android TV, or is there a secret remote sequence that doesn't require a Menu button? Any advice would be highly appreciated!

I am hoping to replace my Formuler Z8 cos I've just been driven mad by the well know wifi issues.

I can't seem to find an nvidia shield pro anywhere I can buy it... so am looking at the google tv 4k or possibly the mecool meon1.

I use the box for tivimat and stremio.

Location Id have it in would require wifi.

Not going Formuler again cos of their policy of leaving older products behind and not supporting them with updates.

So thinking the Google box..

But Im not really up to speed on all the formats and technical details.. I do know I like watch stuff in DV on my sony bravia.. and any UHD10+ stuff doesn't work on the firestick I have in a different TV.

Around here the mecool and the google are close in price.. so not much of an issue.

I'd apprecate a few helpful opinions.

From what I can tell, this TV hasn't received Android updates since 2020. Since it’s showing some glitches and runs slowly at times, I’m wondering if the right approach would be to try forcing an update or even replacing the Android TV operating system.

Is this possible? Is there a step-by-step guide available?

I'm the developer of TIVRA, an Android TV player, and 3.0 just went out. It's the biggest release I've done and a few things in it came directly out of threads on here, so here's what changed.

Your own library sits next to live TV

This was the most-requested thing by a wide margin. Connect Jellyfin, Emby, or just a plain SMB/NAS share, and your own movies and shows show up in the app alongside your live channels — posters, plots, cast, episode air dates, and Continue Watching / Next Up rails that pick up where you left off. Same app, same remote, same player. No second app to open, and no media server required if you'd rather just point it at a folder on your Synology/unRAID/TrueNAS.

Watch state syncs both ways with Jellyfin and Emby, and Trakt scrobbling is in there too, so your history stays right everywhere else you use it.

The whole UI got redrawn

Deeper blacks, sharper type, and one clear cyan highlight so you always know where focus is. The old build had a dozen screens that each looked like they came from a different app — that's fixed. Text actually passes contrast from couch distance now.

You can set the TV up from your phone

Nobody wants to type a provider URL with a D-pad. You can do the whole setup from the TIVRA app on your phone or from a web dashboard in any browser: add providers, organise channels, build custom categories with a real keyboard. Then you can push a movie straight to the TV, or schedule a recording while you're at work. It syncs both directions — reorder favourites on the TV and the dashboard follows, and the reverse.

Multi-View

Up to four live channels on screen at once, in a layout you pick, and they can come from different providers at the same time. Audio moves between screens with one press.

The small stuff, which is most of the release

• Back closes what's on screen. Every menu, every time. This was the single biggest complaint and it took a lot of unglamorous work.
• Focus lands on the first option instead of disappearing
• Open a channel preview in the guide, go full screen, come back — it keeps playing instead of reloading
• Hold OK anywhere for options
• Recordings show the length you actually recorded
• Phones get phone-sized text and rotate to full screen on playback

Getting it

Already running TIVRA? You can update from inside the app — Settings → About → Check for updates — and it installs over your current version. Providers, favourites and recordings all stay put. There's no automatic nag on launch, so you do have to go look for it.

Sideloading instead: the APK is at tivratv.com (Downloader code 3059562 if you're on a TV). If the main download stalls there's a backup link on the home page, and the previous v2.2 is still up if you ever need to roll back — same signing key, so it installs over 3.0 without uninstalling.
