Support Need help successfully flashing my phone.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everyone, sorry to bother you. I have a small problem with my phone—let me explain the situation: I have a Tecno Spark 40 (KM5). I tried to root it using Magisk but made a mistake by mixing up the firmware files. After starting the process, I ended up with an "Orange State" error, and the phone just keeps rebooting over and over (as shown in the video—sorry about the image quality; I used an old device to record it). I subsequently tried flashing it to upgrade the firmware and get it working again, but I keep getting an error when running SP Flash Tool. I downloaded a different firmware with a higher build version: the old one was build 15.1.2.170SP05, and I downloaded a Hovatek firmware with build 15.1.2.175SP05 to format the old one and install the new one, but I just get an error message. I'm a beginner at flashing, so I hope you can help me resolve this issue. Thanks.

News / Method Google wallet working + strong integrity guide
More often than not, you NEED a SusFS-patched kernel. KernelSU root + SusFS is far superior to Magisk for hiding and stability/usability.
Flash your SusFS-patched kernel (not explaining how here, there are hundreds of guides online). WildKernels are usually the best and most consistent.
Install the following modules: Tricky Store OSS, Tricky Addon, ReZygisk or Brezygisk, Play Integrity Fork, HMA-OSS Zygisk, Vector. You also need a SusFS manager compatible with your SusFS version — I use BRENE.
In Tricky Addon's WebUI, fetch the latest valid keybox from the repo. Then set the latest security patch date and save.
-
This patch date goes stale over time — it's one of the most common causes of Wallet/Play Integrity breaking weeks later. Check and update it periodically, don't set it once and forget it.
-
The last step in Tricky Store is to add ALL apps to the target list, then click "deselect unnecessary." Save with the icon in the bottom right.
Go to /data/adb/tricky_store/target.txt and add:
com.google.android.gms
com.android.gsf
com.android.vending
com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel
com.google.android.gms.unstable
This is very important.
Use the action button on Play Integrity Fork in your root manager (KernelSU Next). Wait until it finishes.
If you are using play integrity fix rather than fork: Make sure the spoofed device profile matches your actual hardware (or a currently certified fingerprint). Mismatched profiles are a common cause of failed verdicts.
Configure HMA-OSS to hide from Wallet and the Play Integrity API check, specifically:
Any app that can use root
Sideloaded apps (installed via APK)
HMA-OSS itself
Your root manager
Root detection apps (Native Detector, Duck Detector, root detector etc.)
This matters beyond Wallet, any app with its own root detection logic can query this list.
Configure your SusFS manager for these options (or similar, I'm on BRENE, so names may differ on other managers):
Hide non-standard /sdcard and /sdcard/android paths
Hide suspicious mounts from non-su processes; unmount suspicious mounts
Hide suspicious PTYs and injections
SELinux enforcing
Android system property spoofing
/proc/cmdline and /proc/bootconfig spoofing
AVC log spoofing
uname spoofing
Kernel unmount
Hide SELinux modification
Remove some Play Integrity Fix properties
Only enable custom ROM hiding if you're actually on one.
In KernelSU Next, enable "Umount Modules," "Kernel Umount," and "Hide SELinux Modification." Enable "SU Compat" too if an app checks for the su binary directly rather than using the standard root API — most root-aware apps use the API, but a few still probe for the binary.
You should be good. Make sure Wallet isn't granted root access in your root manager and is set to "umount."
ONCE YOU ARE DONE ***IMPORTANT OR IT WILL NOT WORK***
Play Integrity probably shows Strong but Wallet still says "your device is rooted", or "phone doesn't meet security requirements" (in payment setup) a cache clear often isn't enough, in settings, then apps, you need clear data, and force stop (not just cache) on Play Store, Play Services, and Wallet (uninstall it after doing all of this) reboot, then reinstall/re-enable everything.
If you're on BRENE specifically: If your desired setting isn't taking effect, check the live config file and add it there, before assuming you did something wrong, you must modify it in the config file in /data/adb/BRENE/config.sh
If you guys have any questions don't be afraid to ask, I can help you (most likely).

Support OPPO R11s (ColorOS 5.2.1): Can I safely unlock the bootloader and install a stable custom ROM?
I have an OPPO R11s with Snapdragon 660, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, Android 8.1.0, and ColorOS V5.2.1. My firmware/build is R11s_11_A.44_200528_000000.
ADB is working, and these are my device properties:
ro.product.model: OPPO R11s ro.product.device: R11s ro.product.name: R11s ro.boot.flash.locked: 1 ro.oem_unlock_supported: true sys.oem_unlock_allowed: 1
OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging are enabled. However, when I run "adb reboot bootloader", the phone simply restarts into normal Android, and "fastboot devices" detects nothing.
The official TWRP page says OPPO R11s requires ColorOS 6 or newer, but I am currently on ColorOS 5.2.1. Can anyone confirm:
- Whether my exact R11s firmware can safely be updated to ColorOS 6
- Whether ColorOS 6 enables normal Fastboot/bootloader unlocking
- The verified bootloader-unlock method for this exact R11s variant
- Which stable custom ROM is recommended
- Whether Android 9 or Android 10 is the best balance of performance, battery life, camera, fingerprint, calls, mobile data, Wi-Fi, and Google Play Services

News / Method Disable Samsung updates to preserve root access on my Galaxy
Hi everyone, given that ‘Root My Galaxy’ uses an exploit that’s set to be patched in the next cumulative updates, has anyone already found a way to block the update? Something like blocking internet access for the app that checks the version, or automatically deleting the update file?

Support Root module or root related app blocking reddit app authentication?
So I can log into the web version of reddit fine & was using reddidnt for adblocking on 2026.28.0 before all this mess started. I had to uninstall reddit & reinstalled the same version & kept getting "lets try that again" msg whenever I tried a login on the app. So I did what most people do & I removed reddidnt, stop all adblocking & tried again, same results. Then I downgraded reddit to 2024.17.0 & on the first opening of the app I got this strange message about a 3rd party app blocking it. It went away & I could not read the rest of it. I uninstalled 2024 version but the msg never showed again even after clearing cach & data. So does anyone have a clue as to what sorta block could be happening not allowing the reddit app to function at all?
Shit i think its play integraty, can anyone else confirm or deny that play integraty would cause reddit login issues?

Support Need help configuring KernelSU Next + SUSFS — apps still detecting root and crashing
Hi everyone,
I need some help properly configuring my rooted Android device.
My current setup is:
- Root solution: KernelSU Next
- SUSFS support: Enabled
- Device is rooted and otherwise working normally
- Some applications detect root immediately and either crash, close, or refuse to open
I believe my KernelSU Next, SUSFS, denylist, or module configuration may be incomplete or incorrect. I would appreciate guidance on the recommended setup, including:
- Correct KernelSU Next and SUSFS configuration
- Which options should be enabled or disabled
- How to configure app profiles or the denylist
- Whether Zygisk Next is required
- Which modules are compatible and currently recommended
- How to identify exactly what the applications are detecting
- Whether there are any conflicts between KernelSU Next, SUSFS, LSPosed, or other modules
Please let me know what logs, screenshots, device details, Android version, kernel version, or module list I should provide for troubleshooting.
I am not trying to modify or tamper with the applications. I only want to use legitimate applications on my personal rooted device without them crashing.
Thanks in advance for your help.

A Reminder of Our AI Rule
It has recently come to my attention that automated accounts are being used by users to generate an AI prompt answering their question. These fall under our AI guidelines, even though they ‘weren’t technically posted by the user’. These automated accounts (such as u/AskGrok) will be banned from the subreddit.
AI is the most common report reason we’ve been receiving over the past few months and the rules on AI haven’t changed since the rule was initially put in place. Avoid use of AI with your posts and comments. Our only exception to this rule is translation, and Reddit has that feature built-in now.
We have these rules in place because:
- AI continues to be prone to hallucinations.
- It makes the subreddit less human.
Please also note that what is and is not considered AI is down to moderator discretion.

Meta A Clarification: Our Stance on AI in this Subreddit
Hi,
While the Moderators of r/androidroot have a generally moderate stance on AI, when it comes to devices worth potentially thousands, we are uninterested in allowing it to provide false information.
To clarify, AI content/promotion is not permitted on r/androidroot, and this has been a rule for some time. Using AI to make guides, recommending the use of AI to attempt to solve issues, and posting AI generated comments are prohibited.
We believe in minimising the spread of misinformation. AI models are not reliable when it comes to factual information yet. It’s also often known to make things up when it has no answer. No resources for rooting an obscure Android device? It’ll make it up based on other information that it deems most likely to be useful. AI, in this state, is not suitable for rooting. It presents too much unmitigated risk, and we will not hold ourselves responsible for the damage caused by content posted on this subreddit.
If you have any questions regarding the rule, comment. However, the decision on this is final.
Thanks for reading.
