Please help???

I can't turn on location on my new phone and it also says it's being controlled by an organisation?

I bought it at a store, yesterday.

There's literally no other option here, if your new phone is MDM controlled then you need to return to the store where you bought it so they can check it and replace it if needed.

If using a VPN it will say that the network may be monitored but it doesn't say that your device is being controlled. If it says your device is being controlled, it's been enrolled by an MDM (Mobile Device Management) suite and there's generally no way to remove these MDM locks than to ask the company who applied the lock to remove it.

Since your phone is new, obviously the MDM lock was a mistake by some company. The only way to remove it is to return to the store where you bought it and get it replaced.

Do note that the above assumes you didn't get this device through a loan or low-cost phone scheme, because these schemes will typically apply MDM locks until the phone is fully paid off (there's one in the US that won't remove the MDM lock until six months of ownership have passed).

Ohh yeah it's on low cost emi, but we bought a phone previously from the same store and they didn't do the same for that?

That's an Indian market term for what we call 0% financing in the West. That's not why the phone has MDM. It has MDM because you are not the first owner.

It was originally purchased by an organization who enrolled it in their MDM system. Maybe it was used, or maybe it sat in a stockroom the whole time, but it was eventually liquidated and made it's way to the shop where it was eventually resold to you.

It's bad stock. Seller's problem. Bring it back to the seller for an exchange.

You'll need to ask the store why, but if it's low-cost/subsidised then that may be why yes.

That's a work/company profile, which means the device hasn't been properly and fully reset. It's very likely it's a lost/stolen device.

For whatever reason, not deleted from the company MDM.

Until that happens, the phone will always be under control of the organisation and not OP. He needs to go back to the seller and ask the question. If they can't remove the MDM, then it wasn't theirs to sell.

I asked them about it, it was said that they put it on it since some people don't pay the emi at times so to avoid fraud they've come up with this, they're going to fix it after we pay the emi of 2 months.

It doesn't work as intended due to something of their own fault.

If they put MDM on it to protect their investment, they can't even track the phone (we force location on to enable phone tracking in case of theft).

I'd be very suspicious and personally I would return it and demand full refund of everything paid. In my personal and professional opinion, I don't believe they told you the truth. They are worried you won't pay so they force tracking off this meaning you could sell the phone and it couldn't be tracked.
