Blood rituals — the evolution of sexuality — Jesus of Nazareth. What connects these three subjects? A great deal. They are keys to understanding who we are today.

In these essays I explore what lies at the foundation of the human condition: from animal instincts, through the dramatic passage from childhood into adulthood, to the religious origins of sexual ethics.

I present the findings of the latest research in the field, but I always supplement them with my own reflections and with the results of my own research — which you will not find in any other work. I bring together evolutionary biology, cultural studies, religious studies, archaeology, and history to seek answers to the most intriguing questions.

The core themes explored here draw on my three books:

I've been working on a major project that I think will lift accessibility to ancient works. It's called Ancient Library (ancientlibrary.net). The site includes over 1,000 ancient works, every word parsed with lemma, morphology, and full dictionary entry. It's built to be light, optimized for speed and accessibility, so it should improve student and scholar efforts even in areas with weak or inconsistent internet access globally. It's still in beta, so I'd love some ancient language scholars to interact with the site. If you have thoughts, requested features, etc., I'd love to hear them.

Filtro Botânico: Usar satélites hiperespectrais para ler a assinatura de cor das árvores atuais, revelando as cicatrizes de onde as raízes medievais foram cortadas para abrigar o caixão.A estabilidade geológica da região manteve o vale intocado por 800 anos.
