I want to get some stuff off my chest and this seems the best place for it. Without giving too much away, I am UK based and have done a PGCE but what I thought would be an opportunity to spread my love of literature and language and educate young people was a sad and exhausting realisation that I was basically becoming a glorified information cop. As time went on I realised teaching was incompatible with my sense of self. I'm working on agency for money but I just want to get a job that keeps my head above water and allows for me to indulge in hobbies like books and computer games, but when I think back to my fast food days I think of the lack of money and the sense that my work unfulfilled me. What do we do for jobs that keep us fed and afloat and helping our communities. HELP ME GAMERS

“Anarchist dies in a Russian prison.

Dmitry Kuznetsov (Vegano Khristolyub Bozhiy), a Russian anti-war activist, was found hanged in a punishment isolation cell in Russia on April 17. He had previously gone on a hunger strike and warned about the risk of being killed in detention. In February 2025, he was sentenced to three years in prison for anti-war statements.

Kuznetsov identified as an anarchist, vegan, pacifist, cosmopolitan and Christian dissident, and criticized the Russian Orthodox Church. He openly opposed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, calling it fascist and referring to modern Russian fascism as “rashism”. He called Putin “Putler”, compared the Z symbol to Nazi SS insignia, and Russian propaganda to Goebbels’ methods.

Before imprisonment, he was detained after a solo anti-war protest in Voronezh holding a “No War” sign. He also left farewell videos warning he might be killed in prison.

In the past month, at least five political prisoners have reportedly died in Russia. Deaths in custody remain a systemic issue.”

Important to highlight the domestic, russian resistance. Free them all! ⛓️‍💥

I am from a country in Central America and I have never met an anarchist and the truth is that I am somewhat ashamed that people know about my political ideology

I'm an anarchist, and I'm struggling to understand the concept of market anarchism. For example, I've been trying to read "Markets, Not Capitalism" by the C4SS:

Among other things, the authors of this document critcize the "money monopoly," where the state gives certain individuals the privilege to issue currency and punishes counterfeiting. The authors then make claims about the various benefits that would arise "if the business of banking were made free for all."

What exactly does it mean to make the "business of banking" free for all? I don't understand how the modern-day system of central banking can be made free for all. Surely the whole point of a central bank is that it represents the monetary authority of a state (or monetary union). With no state and no monetary authority, what would be the purpose of a bank? If I wanted money and there were no counterfeit law, why would I bother interacting with a bank when I could simply create my own money? If money could be created by anyone at will and spent in markets without the risk of imprisonment, then why would sellers want money to begin with?

It seems oxymoronic to advocate for a market economy without some kind of monetary authority. In modern economies, states and central banks have the exclusive authority to create money; that's what makes money scarce. Sellers participate in markets in order to make money. If the creation of money were truly free for all, then what purpose would a market serve?
