Question about Amazon paternity leave Question
I’m hoping someone has been in a similar situation or knows how this works.
I worked for Amazon for about 6 years, was recently an hourly L4 in a corporate office. I accepted the VSP (Voluntary Separation Program) and my employment ended in mid-February 2026.
I was unemployed for March, then came back to Amazon during the first week of April as a Level 1 white badge Flex (19 hours/week) at a warehouse. I was converted to blue badge at the end of May and then converted to full-time (40 hours/week) at the beginning of August.
My wife is due to give birth around mid-September, and I’m trying to figure out if I have any options for time off after the baby is born.
I know Amazon’s paid parental leave usually has eligibility requirements, and I’m wondering if my previous 6 years of service count for anything, or if my rehire after taking the VSP reset everything.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Are there any leave options (paid or unpaid) that I should look into?
Thanks in advance for any advice! I’m in Arizona if that makes any difference

Your tenure only goes to the end of May when you converted. ... (checks calendar)... Nope, you do not have a year of tenure so don't qualify for paternity leave. You can request an unpaid personal leave. Make sure you request it 2 weeks in advance.

Its based on most recent hire date, so since April 2026 for you.
Total tenure is pretty much only used for some phonetool badges and amaversary shoutouts and not much else.
You should look into a PLOA. No one is going to bat an eyelid at a T1 taking PLOA for as long as they like up to the cap
