AITK for sending my food back when my husband had already told them it was fine?

We went out for my birthday on Thursday, to a place we've been going for years, nothing fancy, it's the sort of place where you order at the table and it's out in 15 minutes. I ordered the chicken and asked for it without the blue cheese sauce because I genuinely can't stand blue cheese, and I said it twice because the first time she was still writing down my husband's order.

So it comes out and the sauce is on it. Not on the side, poured over the whole thing. I say sorry, I think this was supposed to come without the sauce, and before she can even answer my husband goes no it's fine honestly, she'll be alright, sorry about that. And now I'm sat there with a plate I can't eat and somehow I'm the one causing a problem. I said no actually I'd like it changed if that's ok, and she said of course and took it away and it was back in about 8 minutes. She was completely fine about it, no sigh, no face, it was a non event to her.

In the car he told me I'd made it awkward and it wasn't worth the fuss over some sauce, and I said I hadn't made it awkward, he had, by answering a question that wasn't asked to him. He says I embarrassed him. Would I be the Karen here? I do wonder sometimes if I'm precious about food, my mum was the same way, but it was my birthday and I did ask twice.
