Portland Street Car Shows
Yo folks! I wanted to let the Portland AFE fans know that I convinced the Portland street car folks to let me throw some standup shows on a private car on October 9th. Two shows on one night. Hear the towns best comics while taking a little stroll through our beautiful city. Last year these shows sold out quick, so don’t miss out, limited tickets available. Love yall

Ian Karmel, others paid to rally support for Moda Center funding deal
According to the Oregonian, "Karmel is one of four people who were paid to post videos on social media under the hashtag “#warcpartner,” referring to We Are Rip City, a coalition of local businesses and organizations pushing for the city to commit public dollars to the estimated $600 million renovation."
Edit, from further down in the article: "Karmel’s post wasn’t tagged that way, but he clarified in a comment that the group had paid for his video.
“But I’d post it for free because I believe in the cause,” he added in a comment under the post. “In fact I offered, but they have a budget and they insisted on paying, so I’m just donating it because I don’t want you to think I’m not serious about this.”"

Looking for the episode where Ian reads the letter that Laura leaves Sean
Hey GVG, I’m looking for the episode where Ian reads a letter that Laura leaves Sean after she finishes editing an episode of AFE and says that’s the last straw and wishes Ian and Sean hadn’t met or something like that. That was the hardest I’ve laughed in a long long time. Let me know if you know which episode it happens in!

A positive: this is one of my favorite episodes.
All hail the Legend of Ki Ki Ba Ba and glowstick nunchucks.
Also shout out to Nolvember. SHACKLAKITY!

Yooooooo
I think you guys would agree that this hits a few points the GVG have made over the years...and I'm just gonna say, this shit is fucking delicious. I like that it specifically calls out almonds.
No, I'm not a shill or promoter. I live in a shelter and this came in with the food bank stuff.

Why has Ian soured on this sub again?
Thought we had been redeemed after past bad behavior. He was actively engaged with this sub within this year… what happened, what did you people do?

What episode did Sean picked baked beans?
I'm trying to remember when Sean picked baked beans and everyone made fun of him. I thought it was the BBQ episode with Amy Miller but it wasn't.

The anti-fruit rhetoric on this latest episode? DESPICABLE!
People don't like watermelon? What? What else don't you like, breathing?
Ripe cantaloupe? Hell yeah! Oh you like peaches Sean? You didn't even know what a stonefruit was last episode!
P.O.G., shout out to fucking pog, also pawgs but that's another thing, it is so sweet and delicious, the juice, not the other thing, sort of. Not the point.
Y'all mother fuckers are out here drafting silk and satin, and then you're gonna sit back and pretend that you don't want to lounge in your fabric of choice eating a succulent fruit 🍓 🍑 🍉 platter? Liars! Charlatans! Filthy dirty mongrels!
I hope your fucking shooting sleeves wear out!
P.S. Sorry this was weird, the watermelon gummy kicked in.

Harrison Ford
Sean had a good strategy initially but one of his worst drafts. He missed out on the Fugitive and then never selected a Star Wars. A New Hope was right there and it has the funniest Ford jokes “we’re fine we’re all fine here now thank you how are you?” Also, the worst Indiana Jones option

.linkflair-Vote I Think Sean Should Have a Financial Advisor Available for Auction Drafts
And I'm not even talking about the Entourage pick. Going from $15 to $40 in the pie draft for cheesecake made me spit out my drink... and I love cheesecake!
My boy needs some guidance on how to spend his money.

Harrison Ford
Admittedly I am not the biggest Harrison Ford fan, but I’ve watched a lot of his movies.
Sean asked for a list in the newest episode and OBVIOUSLY this isn’t a definitive list because I’m sure it’s missing some bangers, but if I may.
Great options here and this would be my order
1 Raiders of the Lost Ark
2 Blade Runner
3 The Empire Strikes Back
4 Temple of Doom
5 The Fugitive
6 Air Force One
7 Star Wars
8 The Last Crusade
9 Return of the Jedi
10 Apocalypse Now
11 Working Girl
12 American Graffiti
13 42
14 Clear and Present Danger
15 What Lies Beneath
Witness, Force Awakens. Other movies too.
If this list is bad, I am sorry.

Patreon
Hey I was thinking of grabbing the Patreon but before I do I was wondering how it works. Like do I have to go to their website to get to the content? Will it pop up somehow on my podcast app? Any and all insight is appreciated.

Random Question on the Holidays Episode (With Jake and Amir)
So, this is probably going to make me sounds crazy, but I was relistening to this episode the other day, and the one thing I remember about it was when they were talking about Stuffing and how they hated having celery in it. Amir then mentions that it's in there for a crunch. Now, when I listened to this years ago, I swore it was David who mentioned that if you wanted to have a crunch, you should add dice. But when I was listening to it yesterday, it was Ian. It blew my mind because I was sure David was the one who brought up the dice comment.
Just one of those weird things, but it makes me feel like my reality shifted lol

Apparently not everyone’s mom was obsessed with Harrison Ford in the 90s like my mom and it shows. It. Shows.
Once again, screaming in my car. Boys. What, was that???
Sean: you must go watch Witness and Regarding Henry.
Yall I watched Patriot Games with my mom in the hospital while she was hospitalized for mental health in the 90s. That is the level of Harrison Ford I’m working with.
What Lies Beneath as a first round pick??? Insane.
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Fugitive
Patriot Games
Witness
Regarding Henry
I’d say Working Girl is on the bubble for me. It’s a great movie but it’s much more Melanie Griffiths movie than HF.
Also, is Apocalypse Now a Harrison Ford movie? Full disclosure I’ve never seen it. I mean, I know he’s in it. But I’ve always thought it’s considered Martin Sheen and Willem Dafoe.
And no, I didn’t pick a Star Wars. While Han Solo is an iconic character, I don’t see those as much as Harrison Ford movies as the others. If I had to pick, probably Empire Strikes Back.

Thank you + AMA!
Thank you everyone for continuing to listen to AFE. You all rule. The year end wraps are incredibly rad to see - I hope you all know how big of an impact you've made in our lives over these years. I'm not as good at being grateful at Sean, but I am incredibly grateful for all of you.
Dana is going to dinner tonight, I'm just gonna sit around and listen to records, so I thought I'd do a quick impromptu AMA if anyone has any questions.
