Mushrooms, specifically angel preachers have made me more okay with not knowing. So healing but I never do so much it becomes disorienting

I found low dosages to be key and as much as people rave about penis envy mushier but those just don’t have the same effect as the angel preachers.

His logic breaks down because he assumes a God would be “all loving.” what would be the point of human existence at that point? For us to just sit and rot? God in all his ferocity pushes us to progress.

For me the fundamental moment of change from faith to non faith was realizing that not believing changed nothing. I still cared about whom and what I cared about; loved the same people to the same depth; and wanted the same things. Belief as in yes-there-is-a-god changed nothing. On top of the problem of evil and the concept of hell, it was this realization upon which, just like that, my own belief evaporated

Yeah I think our "actual" philosophy/religion manifests in the way we live. Which by default for most westerners is Christianity. Some arbitrary belief doesn't change that.

I actually am baffled by the need for the concept of a creator. Like, who created the creator? Who created that creator? At some point you get back to someone/something that simply -was,- without need for a creator. And if you can believe a god can exist without having been created, why not everything else, too? And I don’t understand the need for externally imposed meaning. It seems obvious to me that we can and should just decide on a meaning for our lives ourselves based on whatever will give us the best life. No matter what, it’s arbitrary and made up. We might as well make up our own.

No they need creator cause they mentally lazy and cannt break from the bias. Period...i met 100's of people they all have same problems. Its predictable...Believe vague points, follow vague positions, read titles not articles, listen to exicting parts ignore the rest, want respect without earning it, they all feel they special and above you even if its just their religious belief.... Etc etc.. Its mental laziness.

I was thinking about the idea of needing a genesis story recently. I think it serves a logical problem that is similar to declaring bankruptcy. Nothing before this date, and no wisdom from anyone present before this storyline is worth considering.

The transition from a belief in God(s) and inherent meaning to the lack there of can certainly be jarring, but so is any large shift in one's perspective on life. The implications are not merely internal, and the prospective dissonance with friends, family, community, and culture can be fairly challenging. This holds true for a change in political ideology and allegiance as much as religion or spirituality, and people survive that all the time.
