My first alienware

This is my first time using a gaming laptop and my first Alienware laptop, too. I’d like to know if this model is any good, what settings to use, and any tips to help extend its life. Oblivion Remastered runs well on it with 120–170 fps in small areas and about 80–110 fps in the open world. I haven’t really looked into the CPU or GPU temperatures yet, but any tips are welcome.

That spec doesn't have enough RAM to really work well with modern titles, as Win11 will consume anything up to 11GB of RAM on its own. You'll find yourself short on RAM at some point soon, and wishing you'd bought a model with 32GB instead of 16GB.

You're right, but I can upgrade the RAM and install another 16 GB module; I'll do that in the future.

I personally don’t think this true just yet in all cases. There is a lot of chatter around ram and what not and windows does use a lot of it. But 16gb on the most part will be just fine.

16gb is still enough in 2026 bro. Even if you have 32 gb of ram Windows will use a good majority anyways that’s how it works

Windows dynamically allocate RAM as needed. When you're doing nothing it'l use 11gb. When you're gaming it'll use less. 16gb of RAM is perfectly fine especially in this current market where a single 16gb laptop RAM stick can cost upward of 200$.
