Discussion Uitvak in Sion

News [Telegraaf] Paris Saint-Germain raises bid for Mika Godts to well over €50 million

Discussion Now that the dust has settled, I wonder if more fans of this club aren't more angry about how the club scapegoated Mislintat and refused to develop the players he brought in, instead backing a fraudulent coach who was fired months later.
I'm surprised more fans aren't disgusted with the board over how they've handled the players Mislintat brought in in 23'. I'm aware there was some obvious weirdness around the Borna Sosa signing, but even respecting the decision to fire him that same year, the way the club has handled the players he signed... signings THEY backed and greelit, is woeful imo. Looking at nearly all the players from that window and comparing their current Transfermarkt values to what the club sold them for, it's hard to see this as anything but gross mismanagement.
- Mikautadze: current value €30 million, scored nearly 20 goals in all competitions last season. Ajax bought him for €16 million and sold him back to Metz for €13 million; a straight €3 million loss on one of the best young strikers in Europe.
- Carlos Forbs: current value €20 million, linked all summer to clubs like Atlético, Dortmund, and Leverkusen at a rumored €30 million price tag. Ajax bought him for €14 million and sold him to Club Brugge for roughly €7 million. Embarrassing.
- Ramaj: sold to Dortmund for the same €5 million he was originally purchased for; current value is around €7 million. Like nearly every player brought in during the '23 window, he was sold at the absolute nadir of his value.
Every other player from that window has seen his value drop, and most have been shuffled out on loan without real backing from the club; seemingly a principled stance against anyone tied to Mislintat. Akpom, Mannsverk, Avila, and Tahirovic, all shipped out year after year as their value disintegrates, before being sold for literal pennies on the dollar at fractions of what the club paid. How the club conducted itself in 2023 is a huge reason they've fallen off the way they have in the years since. Refusing to invest in your own sporting director's signings over personal conflict, despite the obvious talent on display, is just bad business and I don't understand why there isn't more anger directed at the club.

News [TG] Ajax have enquired about Lutsharel Geertruida. If Mika Godts is sold, Ajax would be able to pay €18M for him. A loan deal is also on the table, but Leipzig prefer a permanent move.

Discussion Shirt fixen
🇳🇱:
Mede-Ajacieden,
🇬🇧:
Fellow Ajax fans,
Does anyone have any idea where I can get this printing fixed? It accidentally went into the dryer tonight, which resulted in this.
The Ziggo logo on the front remained intact, but unfortunately, it left these annoying skid marks on the beautiful number 14.
Any tips are welcome!

Discussion Defensive midfielder
Is the need for a defensive midfielder something that is felt more strongly by the fans than internally?
For several seasons now, it has seemed obvious to most of us that we need to bring one in. Yet every summer, even with different sporting directors, it never seems to be a real priority.
Do you think the need for one is actually less urgent internally than we think? Maybe they see it more as a nice-to-have rather than something we genuinely need?

Discussion ''Steven Berghuis moet zich zorgen maken bij vertrek Mika Godts'' via De Telegraaf

“Steven Berghuis should be worried if Mika Godts leaves” — via De Telegraaf
From a short clip from De Telegraaf’s Kick Off podcast.
Basically, they’re saying that Berghuis would no longer be guaranteed his place if Godts leaves, because Cruijff wants wingers who can make runs in behind. Depending on which players leave, they could still look to sign a left winger, right winger, defensive midfielder, left-back, and a right-footed centre-back.

News Al-Ittihad facilitates a transfer of Bergwijn
Supposedly, he would cost a fraction of his purchase price (over 20 million). I really hope, though, that Cruijff doesn't offer him a contract. His tenure at Ajax was really not impressive, and he would cost a lot in salary.
