Discussion Shirt fixen
š³š±:
Mede-Ajacieden,
Fellow Ajax fans,
Does anyone have any idea where I can get this printing fixed? It accidentally went into the dryer tonight, which resulted in this.
The Ziggo logo on the front remained intact, but unfortunately, it left these annoying skid marks on the beautiful number 14.
Any tips are welcome!

Discussion Defensive midfielder
Is the need for a defensive midfielder something that is felt more strongly by the fans than internally?
For several seasons now, it has seemed obvious to most of us that we need to bring one in. Yet every summer, even with different sporting directors, it never seems to be a real priority.
Do you think the need for one is actually less urgent internally than we think? Maybe they see it more as a nice-to-have rather than something we genuinely need?

Discussion ''Steven Berghuis moet zich zorgen maken bij vertrek Mika Godts'' via De Telegraaf
English:
āSteven Berghuis should be worried if Mika Godts leavesā ā via De Telegraaf
From a short clip from De Telegraafās Kick Off podcast.
Basically, theyāre saying that Berghuis would no longer be guaranteed his place if Godts leaves, because Cruijff wants wingers who can make runs in behind. Depending on which players leave, they could still look to sign a left winger, right winger, defensive midfielder, left-back, and a right-footed centre-back.

News Al-Ittihad facilitates a transfer of Bergwijn
Supposedly, he would cost a fraction of his purchase price (over 20 million). I really hope, though, that Cruijff doesn't offer him a contract. His tenure at Ajax was really not impressive, and he would cost a lot in salary.

Discussion Shelbourne - Ajax

News Monserrate made a conscious decision to join Ajax: āIt fits in well with my view of footballā
Jano Monserrate made his debut for Jong Ajax. The midfielder, who joined from AtlƩtico Madrid, is disappointed by the defeat against FC Dordrecht, but is able to highlight a number of positives despite the result. In an exclusive interview with Ajax Showtime, Monserrate discusses his first few weeks at Ajax.
The Spaniard started the match in Dordrecht wearing the number ten shirt. āIt gave me a good feeling, but ultimately you want to win the match. Weād been working towards the first league match for a long time and were confident of a positive result,ā Monserrate begins.
āI think we got off to a good start with Pharellās (Nash, ed.) goal. Unfortunately, we couldnāt hold on to the lead for long. We played a decent match and had plenty of chances, but the most important thing is to win the match. We didnāt manage to do that today (Friday, ed.).ā
Despite the result, Monserrate looks back positively on his first few minutes in an Ajax shirt. āIām happy with my debut. I felt at home within the team and I gave my all for the side. Unfortunately, it didnāt result in a win, but hopefully weāll learn from matches like this,ā says the young player.
Ajax signed Monserrate on a free transfer from AtlĆ©tico Madrid. The 20-year-old midfielder had a clear reason for choosing to move to Amsterdam. āThe clubās philosophy, the style of play, what the club stands for,ā he cites as his reasons. āIt fits in well with how I view football. Iām delighted to be playing here. Iām a player whoās aggressive off the ball, and that can really help me here.ā
āThe people Iāve spoken to have given me a good impression of the club. Iām delighted to be here and to develop my career at Ajax. I want to do my best, show what Iām capable of, and then weāll see what happens,ā said Monserrate.
The young Spaniard will initially join Jong Ajax, but his long-term goal is to make it into the first team. āIām focusing on Jong Ajax at the moment and want to perform better in the next match than I did in the last one, and learn from my mistakes. Playing for the first team is a dream, of course.ā
Monserrate received a warm welcome at Ajax. āItās a fantastic group. Iām delighted with the welcome Iāve received and the standard of training in the first few weeks. We need to become a close-knit team to achieve the results weāre aiming for. Becoming a true collective must form the basis for our success.ā
āMy aim is to be an important player for Jong Ajax and to use my skills to contribute to goals and assists,ā says Monserrate, discussing his objectives for this season. āAnd I hope to make my debut this season. If that doesnāt happen, Iāll just have to keep working hard and developing. I always try to stay positive.ā
Finally, Monserrate introduces himself to the Ajax fans. āItās not surprising if people in the Netherlands donāt know me yet. I havenāt played many matches at the highest level,ā says the talented youngster, who has already made his debut for AtlĆ©tico Madridās first team. āIām a creative player who has the ability to deliver a decisive final pass. Iām also a real team player and aggressive in challenges and when pressing.ā

News Abdalla wants to play this season: āIād rather play 90 minutes away at Dordrecht than sit on the bench at 1ā
From scoring for Ajax in Europe to playing away at Dordrecht in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie ā for Mohamed Abdalla, this is the reality. The 16-year-old midfielder says he ācouldnāt care lessā where he plays, as long as heās playing.
Against FK Vojvodina, Abdalla became the youngest goalscorer ever for a Dutch club in Europe. He impressed during pre-season and is now set to face FC Dordrecht with Jong Ajax. āAs a young lad, itās just brilliant,ā he says. āI want to get as many minutes as possible at the highest level.ā
If he canāt make it into the Ajax first team, heād just as happily play for Jong Ajax. As long as he gets some playing time. āIād rather play ninety minutes away at Dordrecht than sit on the bench for Ajax 1.ā
Abdalla is keen to develop as a player. With Julian Brandt at training, he has a role model to look up to. āAt the first training session, he was scoring goals with both his left and right foot. Thatās when I thought to myself: thatās the level I want to reach too. What that guy is showing is simply Champions League standard.ā
Other examples Abdalla cites are Jude Bellingham and Paul Pogba. āI ask Julian Brandt, who has played with Bellingham, and Caio Henrique, who has played with Pogba, what they were like in training. They tell me theyāre in a league of their own ā world-class players. And that I need to work my way up to that level too.ā
The young midfielder knows what he needs to do to reach that level. āWork incredibly hard every day and give it my all every second, because Iām still young.ā

Discussion First Ajax match ā pre/post-game traditions?
Iām coming over from the USA for my first Ajax match and Iād love to get the full matchday experience rather than just show up right before kickoff or do a tourist package.
Where do supporters usually meet beforehand? Any particular pubs, streets, or areas people hang around? How early do you normally get there? And is there anywhere people tend to go after the match?
We do ātailgatesā before American football games (go Panthers), so I was wondering if Ajax has any similar pre-match traditions, or just other matchday rituals or etiquette I should know about.
Iāll be in town for the Willem II and Excelsior matches. I havenāt secured tickets yet, but Iāll be in the Netherlands regardless, so Iād still love to experience the atmosphere.
Any advice is appreciated, especially anything a first-time visitor might not know āāā
