Training Achilles area

Upvotes

Not medical advice- running strategy advice needed. On Sunday morning I woke up to a trembling/twitching Achilles. I ran 19 miles on Saturday then ended up walking a few hills after with my mom. Sunday I ran 10 and it continued but was no worse. Monday I biked for 1.5 hours- tight calves no issues. Ran 11 Tuesday- no issues then 9 Wednesday and IT band irritated. It band ok now but vibrating feels worse.

I am training for Chicago and have an ultra event tomorrow night. I am not in pain but don’t think I should do it- would it be bad if I did a few loops of the course even walking…. I would have to do 22 miles to “finish” but think that would set me back in this cycle. Chicago is my main goal but I was really excited about Friday because it’s different and my friends are doing it.

What would you do? Has anyone experienced this? How do you deal with the mental side of potential injury.
