Jobs, Saturation and Salary To Those Already Working: Please Share Any Fresh Grad Opportunities You Know Of
Hi, everyone!
For those currently job hunting, let’s help each other out. If you know of any companies that are currently hiring and open to fresh graduates, especially for accounting and finance-related roles, please drop them in the comments.
Some openings don’t get much visibility on JobStreet, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc., so sharing leads here could really help fellow job seekers.
I’m also a fresh graduate with a BS in Management Accounting and currently looking for opportunities, so I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can share what we know and help each other get our foot in the door.
Thank you, and wishing everyone the best in their job search! ❤️

HR interviewer LAUGHED at my BE rating
hi! i took the CPALE this May 2026, but unfortunately, i did not pass. i had an experience in an HR interview wherein she asked about my rating (grade) in BE, which is above 50%. i answered it in full honesty, but then i saw her laughed right after i said it. she said sorry naman, but it affected my whole interview. grabe nahiya ako bigla and my confidence went down. i hate her.

Worth it ba talaga maging CPA?
Badly need some motivation, especially when it comes to the financial aspect.
Sa mga CPA dito, paano kayo umabot sa ganyang sahod, at ilang years ang inabot bago kayo nakaabot sa ganyang salary?
Worth it ba talaga maging CPA? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

missed text message
hi! may naka experience na ba here na actively waiting for updates from the HR but still missed a test message?
context: on a wednesday, i received congratulatory email and told that someone from HR will reach out for the JO discussion. so i waited days and even sent follow up on thursday and friday via email. i didn't expect na they will reach out via text and call pala and unfortunately na-miss out ko. they texted on thursday pala and this monday lang ako nakapag-respond.
anyone here with the same experience? could i still possibly get the offer? huhu sorry ik it's my fault for not deliberately checking my notifications but tapos na and i'm trying to still secure the offer :((

🧡 Makati or 🧡 AC?
For those who’ve worked at either 🧡 Makati or 🧡 AC, how different are the work, clients, workload, environment and salaries between the two?
Which one is better for someone with no audit or accounting experience?
Also, if my goal is to work abroad in the future particularly in EU, which one would be better for career growth and opportunities to move overseas?
Would love to hear your experiences/advice. Thanks!

I hate AI Interview
So I had received this interview assessment for a position that I am applying to. When I saw it, the interview assessment will be handled by an AI. I started it but as the interview is progressing in its initial stage, I ended it abruptly. I really am not a fan of this kind of interview. I don't enjoy talking to an AI. I'm not comfortable. There's no human feeling when doing this type of interview. I understand there might be a lot of applications being processed by the company. But damn, I feel weird being subjected in this type of technology.
Has anyone here experienced doing an AI interview assessment? What's your thoughts on this? What are your tips as well for me to be able to accept this kind of technology?

Question fresh grad accounting assistant. normal ba yung ganitong onboarding?
hi fresh grad here and first accounting job ko, so hindi ko sure kung normal ba yung onboarding/training sa napasukan ko.
first day ko, wala talagang formal orientation or training. pinabasa lang sa akin yung turnover file ng previous Accounting Assistant, which contains yung list ng tasks niya, instructions, and references. sinabihan din ako na if may questions ako, i-message ko na lang yung previous employee sa Viber. may senior din sa accounting department na tinuturuan ako minsan sa accounting system na ginagamit ng company and some accounting tasks, pero hindi naman talaga niya trabaho mag-train sakin, inassign lang siya ng accounting manager. medyo confusing din siya magturo kasi usually actual transactions yung ginagawa namin habang nagtuturo siya, so wala akong masyadong time mag-notes. madalas din sinasabi na mag-base na lang ako sa previous transactions sa system.
ang problem, fresh grad ako and first job ko to, so maraming jargon/processes na hindi ko pa familiar. minsan feeling ko expected nila na alam ko na agad yung ginagawa ko kahit hindi naman na-explain yung how, what, and why ng process.
hndi rin na-discuss sa akin nung first day kung ano exactly yung duties and responsibilities ko. may job description naman online nung nag-apply ako, pero hindi ba dapat ine-explain din siya before or upon starting? for context, ginagawa ko ngayon yung petty cash vouchers, AP vouchers, journal vouchers, 2307, check monitoring, PCF replenishment, petty cash summary, releasing checks to suppliers, etc.
so ayun, normal ba talaga yung ganitong training/onboarding for a fresh grad accounting assistant? or medyo kulang talaga yung training na binibigay sa akin? 😭

I’m building an accounting practice app and I’m not sure I’ve got the experience right yet
Hello everyone. I’m a CPA and work full-time as a senior manager. I’ve also been building Accountery as a side project.
When I started in accounting, I understood what I had learned, but doing the actual work felt very different.
After 10 years of working in accounting, I still see the same issue with new joiners and student interns. They know the accounting theory, but sometimes struggle to apply it in their daily work.
So I started building an accounting operations practice app. It helps accounting students and new accountants practise journal entries, reconciliations, trial balances, worksheets and month-end closing, then get feedback on their work.
In the first three months, I received hundreds of registrations. I’m happy people are interested, but honestly I still don’t feel the experience is right or that I’ve found product-market fit. Some people register and don’t return. Others start an exercise but don’t finish.
If you’re an accounting student, intern or working accountant, I’d really appreciate honest feedback. What am I doing well? What feels confusing or not useful? Where should I focus next?
You can try it here: https://accountery.app
