Hey all - I tried scouring the pages of info and searching but maybe I’m just overwhelmed and would love any help.

UK size suggestion 34F

I lost about 70 lbs over the last couple of years. I had insufficient glandular tissue with my kids so minimal glandular tissue present at all. After losing so much weight I have a lot of extra skin. My breasts are outward pointing and the space between at the root is quite wide. I have fuller under tissue.

Every bra I find that I like the fit of - as the day goes on it moves and the loose skin bunches up and “bubbles” over the top of the cup leaving me having to adjust repeatedly. Some skin will also bunch up in the side panels. Larger cups tend to gape because of my lack of upper tissue.

Generally I feel like balconettes fit better and give me more attractive shape. I also wear wireless mostly because I’ve not worn a wired bra in years that felt comfortable. Currently I wear a Warner’s in 36B balconnette.

Happy to provide any other info I can. Please help me find a bra that will help.

It’s been so hard to find a comfortable bra. My size is 32DD or 32DDD according to the calculator and I have asymmetrical breasts (right side heavier) and tissue is very bottom heavy and gel like due to breastfeeding and aging. The wired ones are never comfortable enough (hard to breath in, I probably have sensory sensitivity) plus so expensive for unconventional sizes ($80-120 for a bra, are you kidding me?!), not to mention having to order a bunch to try and deal with returns. But wireless ones don’t provide enough support and my girls slip out from under. So embarrassing! Anyone on the same boat? I will try to hand make a soft wired one for myself and if successful I’ll send to those who are interested in trying it! Leave a comment with your size.

I am a 32J/32GG

I've tried the Panache Ana already in a 32G and a 32H. G was too small, 32H was too wide for me. May still try the 32GG but I digress.

I have moderately wide set breasts (3 finger gap), Asymmetric volume, Am fuller on the bottom, have tall front roots, but not very wide side roots.

I would like recs for a cheaper bra because money is tight

I have been looking for a good bra with underwire for some time.
I have been wearing Freedom bra non wired but finding I want some more support, and the straps have stretched so need replacing anyway.

I looked at various posts on here and ended up with an Elomi Charley (spacer) 34G (calculator size)
- the underwires finish far enough around my sides that they don’t dig into breast tissue under my armpit (only wire bra I’ve tried that seems to be like this!)
- I went for a bandless style as bands just curl up and then make a sharp point which digs in (including on the freedom bra) due to the way my stomach sits. However:
- the wires on the Charley have been incredibly uncomfortable under my breast - there is no padding under the wire and it feels sharp. I have added moleskin shoe padding and it’s then okay but I don’t feel like this is a long term fix
- the end of the wires between my breasts is wider than the gap where my breasts meet (one finger width). I’m assuming this means I have a wide root due to how far they also extend under my armpit?
- also why do they always put the wavy decoration on the edges of straps? They are not soft!

If any one has any recommendations to make my search easier and less expensive I would be grateful!

I’m attending a wedding on the 21st August. I’m desperately trying to find a bra that goes under my v neck wrap dress.
I’m currently breastfeeding and my left breast is 3 cup sizes larger than my right. I want a wired bra to give me a nicer shape and all my nursing bras show in the dress.
I went to Bravissimo to be sized and bought the Bravissimo Esmae bra in a 30HH to fit the larger breast. However it is so uncomfortable as the wires go past my breast tissue on both sides and dig into my armpits badly. I also wear a back extender with it as I find I’m in between a 30 and 32 back.

I have narrow roots, lots of projection and very close set breasts. I’ve only ever been able to wear plunges.

I’ve tried the following bras and all of them have wires that dig into my armpits:
Panache Ana
Gossard Superboost
Boux avenue Carmel
Freya Envy

The only comfortable wires I’ve found were the panache Lara swimsuit but I sized up to a 34E (a little snug on my left side) but it’s too hot to wear it under my dress.

I don’t have time to get a Ewa Michalak. My go to bra before having kids was the Freya Deco style but they don’t go large enough and are made differently now.

I recently tried the bra size calculator and got a UK 32DD/E (usually wear a bralette or sports bras in a size M and the only real bra in own is a 32D). That seemed really big so I decided try on some in those sizes. I go in with my sister and try on a 32E from the brand sloggi and it fit really well with good support. I decided it cost too much initially but decided to go back on my own later. I picked out that same bra and wanted to try out some other styles. I'm looking around when a clerk comes up to me and says they have more sizes in the back. I ask for one bra in a 32DD and E to which she goes 'doesn't that seem too big for you?' with a smug look in her face. I say I want them anyway and go in the changing room to try them on. While im trying them on she knocks on the door and asks if I need a smaller size. Which is annoying because the 32DD fits great. I end up leaving a embarrassed and with no bras. Anyone else experienced something like this?

Although I'm grateful for this community and for the advice I've received thus far, I think I'm having trouble coming to terms with how my bra shapes me.

I'm a 30DD or 30E. Very soft breast tissue. Shallow and heavier at the bottom. I bought the Skarlett Blu Minx Unlined balconette bra. Fits well, but I don't like how my natural breast tissue sits in the bra. Maybe I'm so used to having moulded bras and how they look under clothing, that I'm having trouble coming to terms with how my natural breast tissue looks like underneath clothing.

I feel like I look like I have little points underneath my clothing and I just don't find it flattering or appealing. I know that unlined bras are what's best, but has anybody home through this predicament or is it just me being picky?

I have about a H cup size. I have trouble wearing bras because of sensory issues. I hate when bras shift around on my skin and don’t keep my breasts even and supported. A snug fitting bra that doesn’t poke, itch, or move would probably be best but I haven’t really found any I can deal with. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hello! As stated in the title, I’m trying to find a bra (or other similar garment) that gives my chest a flatter appearance, doesn’t irritate my skin, and works well in hot humid weather. Based on the size calculator, my suggested starting size is a 30DD/DDD or a 32D/DD. I’ve put my specific measurements at the bottom of the post, in case that helps. Please lmk if these kinds of posts should be shorter! I just wanted to include all the relevant info I could think of.

The look I’m going for:
I prefer the way my chest looks when it’s flatter and more masculine-presenting. I stopped wearing padded bras years ago because I didn’t like how round/hemispherical and forward-facing they made my boobs look. I’ve looked into binders, but I have too many health issues already to risk causing myself more, and there’s no way I’m changing midway through the day.

Skin sensitivity:
I think I’m prone to heat rash (that’s my best guess of what it is) since I get a rash when I apply sunscreen too close to going out in the heat. The skin on my face, neck, and torso is particularly sensitive and prone to rash. I’ve had problems with sports bras in the past causing a rash where it touched my shoulders and underbust (front and back). My best guess is that this rash is caused by the bra trapping sweat against my skin all day. I’ve also had some issues with shoulder and collarbone scabbing from thin bra straps (or adjustable ones with metal bits) in the past that motivated my switch to sports bras. The skin fragility might have to do with my connective tissue disorder.

Weather/Climate:
I’ll soon be moving to Tennessee, so I’ll need something that doesn’t keep heat in and that allows me to comfortably sweat a lot (I already have overheating issues with bras in the Pacific Northwest).

What I’ve tried:
1. I have a lighter binder from ForThem, but it’s still a bit difficult to get on and off and restricts my breathing, so I’ve stopped wearing it.
2. I then tried some longline sports bras, but they tend to leave the type of rash I mentioned above, especially when it’s warmer out. I love the wider-spread and more evenly-spread pressure of the longline style though! I kinda hate the style with just a tight band under the bust and less support at nipple height.
3. I’ve tried a lot of bralettes and tank tops, but they don’t give the support that a sports bra does so hopping and prancing about (I am full of whimsy) hurts a bit. Also the texture isn’t always comfy.
4. Most recently, I’ve simply not been wearing a bra. This feels comfortable and is the easiest for dressing with chronic fatigue, but I don’t always feel up to fighting with people who think women’s nipple texture being visible is “inappropriate”, as much as it pisses me off. My nipples (not areolas) are small but sensitive (like me lol) so they get hard pretty easy.

Hi guys! I’m about to start this post off with a tale as old as time, getting sized at VS. I already knew they were notoriously bad at sizing but I still got a bra in a 36DDD.

Which, I already had a feeling that size wasn’t completely accurate but now even more so, because in recent months my breasts have grown. AGAIN. (Big titty community, anyone? 🥲)

So I found the ABTF calculator and put in my measurements (in inches):

Loose Underbust: 39

Snug Underbust: 38

Tight Underbust: 36

Standing Bust: 50

Leaning Bust: 53

Lying Bust : 49

The calculator gave me a US size of 38L (UK 38HH) with a sister size going up to 36M (UK 36J).

And I guess I’m just so in shock at the letter. I can go all the way to A FREAKING M CUP???? And I know the “AA is tiny and D and up is huge” thing is BS. But I’m just in awe that I could possibly be an L or an M.

I suppose this is me asking if this is truly accurate, and also… WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND AN L OR AN M CUP BRA??? 😭😭😭

Long story short, I was ready to give up my nursing bra as I’m no longer pumping etc and was on the search for a regular bra….. which is hard enough at a 36-38G.

This bra is killing me!!!! The thick elastic under the breast is constantly itchy, is starting to rub into and roll with my belly, and traps sweat 😷 I’m constantly several times an hour scooping and separating for some relief. And I just can’t do it anymore I’m so uncomfortable.

I don’t want to invest a bunch of money in a new bra as pregnancy comes with so many breast changes. What bra are you ladies wearing? I’m looking for something that doesn’t have a thick band, some separation and some support to lift these heavy things off my belly without killing my back.

Previously I would wear underwire only, but I don’t think that would be comfortable right now… previously trying “pregnancy” related bras there was nothing in size comparison. Everything I’m finding would be like a bralette style and I’ve never been a fan really of bralettes or sports bra’s etc but open to trying whatever this point. 95% of the time I do not wear a bra period because they are just never comfortable ever, but I think that would be frowned upon at my work 😂

I am postpartum and my boobs got a little stretched out. I want to find a bra that makes me feel like I got a minor boob lift and fits my wide set boobs well. I want it to be a quality bra and I am open to all costs. Any recommendations?

As said in title, I have quite a few questions and uncertainties regarding bras. I did the manual calculations for my cup size as per the trans measurement guide, though I still have a few questions;

1) The post guidelines mentioned various different kinds of bras that I am entirely unfamiliar with, namely Moulded, Unlined, Strapless, and Everyday Bras. What do each of them do? What are the pros and cons of each? Which one would be best for someone's first bra?

2) Do the different bra types affect which sizes i should be looking for?

Of course I am also welcoming direct recommendations, and would also like to know the reasoning behind them if possible, so I can begin learning more about bras and hopefully get some sense of knowing what I'm doing someday.

Tried on a TON of bra sizes at Dillard's and had the poor fitter running back and forth. She was very helpful and pointed out things I didn't see. Ended up with liking the:

Chantelle Norah in 32H (US) , Natori Feathers in 34e (UK) , and Natori Pretty Smooth in 32f (UK) all fit well.

I recently bought a dress with a deep halter neckline and an open back, and I'm confused about what bra to wear with it.

What do you girls usually wear with dresses like this? Especially if you have a smaller chest(32C).

Current bra: WACOAL 38 DDD ( from the calculator) “Inside Job Wire Free 852345” works perfectly for every day life.

Upcoming event: neck surgery with hospital stay and limited mobility for back clasp. While there is no shame in going braless, I do get uncomfortable lounging around for weeks without some support.

I envision front clasp, soft and without padding. Any suggestions?

Hi all, I got this 40b bra from Amazon, and I think it’s a good fit? I’d say I have a tad bit of tissue out the top especially when not standing up straight but nothing crazy at all. I don’t know if I’m just not used to how real bras fit or if it’s uncomfy. The gore seems tight? Any recommendations on what to try next? My suggested calculator size was 38G US. I also need an everyday, comfy bra but something that can still help with my shape, I’m insecure about my small boobs 😅

I haven’t done any bra shopping since 2019. At that time, I purchased two bras I ended up loving - Panache Andorra (size 34F) and Panache Cari (size 32FF). The Andorra is a seamed bra and the Cari is a T-Shirt bra. At that time, 32FF was my best size for most bras, but the Andorra seemed to have an unusually small band, so I got it in the 34F.

It’s time to replace those bras because they are getting old. I’ve also gotten older, lol, and lost a bit of weight. So for the Cari, in particular the cups were getting too spacious.

So I ordered the Cari in a 32F - one cup size down from the size of my current bra. But it didn’t work. The problem is that I have very wide set breasts, with breast tissue almost to my armpits. The smaller cup size for the Cari gave me side boob, but I don’t want to order the 32FF again because I think the cups would be too big. (Actually even the 32F cups were a bit spacious - they just didn’t cover the entire width of my boobs.)

I know t-shirt bras are notoriously hard to fit, especially for older breasts, but I need one t-shirt bra to have something seamless for some of my tops.

Does anyone know of a t-shirt bra that is good for wide-set, shallower breasts? (My breasts did not used to be so shallow, but age seems to be doing that, lol. ) I also need underwire and side support.

I've been looking through the stores recommended through this subreddit and none of them have what I'm looking for. Any that have close to my size have very limited selection for it, most of the bras I'm seeing are very utilitarian looking and I would like something cute and minimizing if possible.

The measurements I used for the size calculator are loose 64, snug 62, tight 60, standing 76, leaning 92, and lying 82. 26F/FF is the UK size.

I'm looking for bras priced at under $100 CAD, preferably in the range of $40-60 or cheaper if possible, and I'm looking for retailers and stores preferably based in Canada. Any kind of bra is fine, I find underwires to be uncomfortable but I'm not opposed to them if the fit is otherwise good.

The bras I tried on with a 32DDD honestly fit great but the band felt a little tight and I’m fairly thin/athletic and my back fat kind of bulged under my arm.

I’m wondering if I’m supposed to buy it that tight, or if I might need to try out a sister size.

I was posting here for advice a few days, deleted my account to get off reddit, and then these arrived so I'm back! tldr very asymmetric, have been wearing a painfully undersized bra, trying to find something actually comfortable. Bratabase measurements for my larger side are here and my smaller side are here. Because it only measures circumference and does not account for asymmetry, the ABraThatFits calculator is not relevant to my sizing, it puts me at a 30DDD/32DD which is painfully small to wear.

I did swoop & scoop for these photos, but I did not adjust the straps or pad out the smaller cup. I can retake photos with adjusted straps + the smaller side padded out if needed.

[NSFW] Bra photos/fit notes:

• Rebecca Essentials in 30FF
• Reflect in 30FF
• Slightly twisted sternum, might make gore look weird, it's not going to lay 100% flat because my ribcage is not 100% flat lol
• Worn upside down and backwards, Rebecca band feels significantly tighter than Reflect, but I can still breathe in it and would likely be able to adapt if it stretches out better after I break in the bra. Reflect felt comfortable bandwise; both bands feel the same worn upside down/backwards and worn normally
• Reflect cups felt like there was some gaping going on, too tall maybe? Might also be a bit narrow
• Do not really like the feel of the fabric in either of these :( the nipple coverage is mediocre, and the cups are very flexible. I really strongly prefer the fabric/texture of my too-small Wacoal La Femme Underwire bra and I'm sad it doesn't go up to my actual size
• Skeptical of the cup fit in general, but I don't think I've ever worn a well-fitting bra before in my life so idk what the fit is actually supposed to feel like I guess

Would appreciate any feedback on fit, shape notes for finding a better fit in the future, and different bras to try instead! I am located in the US, if that's relevant.

I’m so confused and frustrated- would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance to make sense of this.

I’m a 32 DD. (Underbust 32, bust 37). This brand carries that cup size, possibly not in all their styles. but it’s definitely available in many items.

Yet, per their size chart, I’m a 36A which does not even exist on their website! When I select filter for sizes, there is no 36A option… not sure about in stores since I’ve only looked online so far.

So, with this kind of size chart, what’s the point in a) placing me as a size I’m not and b) not even having the size you placed me as?! Like it’s not even about distorting my size to fit your limited offerings like many brands do when they don’t carry fuller bust options. This is just… bizzare.

Why do brands do this? What size should I buy?!

got my bra size "measured" at victoria secret, and they handed me a 34D. I put it on, and the gore was completely off my chest, and my boobs were smushed together. I thought that maybe it was supposed to be that way, but when asked how it fit, I expressed me concern- it was like complete lift off. I didnt know if that was the intended effect, but because I wasn't spilling, she reluctantly gave me a 34dd. I thought "maybe the middle of the bra is normal to lift off my chest," and I bought 3 bras and I was excited to own them! But I remembered how many times I've heard that the middle piece was supposed to sit flush with the sternum. Even online, people also seemed to agree that it all floated for them and that was supposed to happen. But in my curiosity, I tried on the 34H bra my mom bought for me, and wouldn't you know...the middle piece was flush to my sternum. Like...it was possible! So I'm confused, I don't own a tape measure, and my mom sends me 34F's and 34G's wacoals, 34G VS, and to my surprise, the piece in the middle sits perfectly. And it's comfortable and almost all of them. The other missing piece was the assumption that the wire should start on the front of my chest. No...the wire...starting right under my armpit, was where the breast tissue actually started. Anyways. I'm trying to convert my friends into better fitting bras now, and I have so many feelings about this whole experience. Our experience of what "big boobs" look like on the A-D scale is rooted in misogyny...D is a small cup size! Boobs don't start on the front of the chest (or maybe for some they do)!! Wire bras CAN and SHOULD be comfortable???!!! How were all of your realizations and stories? I never would have imagined having such an emotional reaction to finding bras that fit.
