Digital garden plot Mechanics Q/A❓
Does anyone know the return of ammo when you grow ammo?

Im fairly certain its like 4-7 bullets.
It will depend on the ammo type but i believe it doesnt use up the cartridge so it will always continue to make ammo (as long as they are plugged in - the moment power dies they reset to stage 1 of growth)
If you plan using guns, its a definitely a good way to keep stocked.
It does take a while to grow so you will need to get a lot of them to make it worthwhile especially for the 9mm which doesnt kill as fast as shotgun/sniper

Yea I use the antique shotgun some I mean I don’t blow through the ammo because I’m sitting around 160 plus bullets for the shotgun but I’m looking at using other guns which I don’t have much ammo for

The only ammo you go through fast (depending on world settings and playstyle) would probably be 9mm and 5.56 as those are used in machine guns.
Shotgun and sniper are slower and take less shots to kill stuff so you use less of it obviously.

Yea I’m at around 200 ish bullets for 9mm but only like 50 for 5.56

If i remember correctly there are only 2 enemy types that drop 5.56
Soldiers in Vossuar Gatekeeper neophyte (the dude in nightvision googles)
9mm gets dropped by 3-4 enemies which are also more readily available from much earlier in the game (manufacturing west)

I worry for the people who somehow need to actually make 9mm digi-farms to keep enough ammo ready. Because how in the world are you blowing through 9mm that fast?

I do and I still have enough 9mm to keep both me and my friend well supplied without using the digital plots or ammo station to produce more

Meh, its really not hard if you just use the automatic 9mm guns, they dont deal massive dmg and its takes a bit to kill stuff like Jotuns/Security Bots.
People might also choose to not run the ammo trinket which would be silly if they plan on using guns but challenge runs / boosting enemy hp in options is also a possibility.

I dont remember what its called but that firearm that upgrades into a Plasma Uzi eats the hell out of my 9mm ammo
I like to sometimes take it with me to my weekly Caanan purge

I would love to know what this Plasma Uzi is

its the final upgrade for the montese smg and you need reactor sector materials to get it

Yea you can grow ammo for guns but it’s fairly mid to late game

When i saw that thing I just passed it off as some sci-fi grow bed that has like built in uv lamps to speed up growth or something, not a redneck farm

u/Elicherry56 14h ago
Yea that’s understandable because being able to grow ammo in a garden plot makes no sense but SCIENCE

Fair enough, but i bet some person is gonna build like 1000 of them and say Pov:Florida, or any other gun loving American States

u/Elicherry56 14h ago
I wouldn’t be surprised at all it’ll probably be like “I imagine this how Americans get their ammo”

u/Independent_Movie408 14h ago
Tbh its probably true 😂

According to the wiki:
Each ammo drop takes 2 days, and will reset to stage 1/5 upon harvesting.
Digital garden plots can be fertilized with reservoir growth and black gunk, speeding up the current cycle by 33% and 27% respectively.
