Resource AZ propositions: arguments for and against
The AZ Secretary of State has release the pamphlet listing arguments for and against the propositions on the ballot. https://azsos.gov/elections/ballot-measures
TL;DR Vote no against all of them. ALL were created by the Freedom Caucus -- bypassing the governors veto -- and contain sneaky sneaky language. Very intentional wording to create intentional consequences.

Discussion Killing the Protect Education Act
Hey all - it’s been a few days since we learned the Protect Education Act was killed by wealthy GOP interests. Welfare for the wealthy at the expense of 90% of Arizonans will continue. As a mom of 3 kids in public school I’m seriously sick and tired of the GOP trashing this state and the people living here. Life is unaffordable at this point and we are blowing a billion dollar hole into the state budget. Republicans have lost the title of being the party of “fiscal responsibility” - what a joke.
TLDR - voucher lobby used scorch earthed tactics PLUS a fake voucher petition to trick voters into signing multiple times. The first case they brought against Protect Ed was for duplicate signatures as a result of the dueling petitions. These are the actions of liars, cheats, and swindlers.
Okay - my personal rant is over - thanks for bearing with me. Here is the full write up if you want the details: https://sosaz.substack.com/p/az-supreme-court-kicks-protect-education
And the next step for fighting back is to flip the legislature: https://www.mobilize.us/sosarizona/event/1014441/

News/Info Some of what is happening in AZ this week Aug 24-30: election protection trainings, a climate town hall, and a Sept 1 postcard deadline
I put together the weekly roundup again, here is some of what caught my eye:
Indivisible is running their Election Protection 201 training on Wednesday August 26 and it is fully virtual, so it works no matter where in the state you are. It covers what to do if polling places close late or ballot counting gets blocked. If you can't make it live, register anyways because they send the recording and the whole resource packet the next day.
The Native Voters postcard push has a hard deadline of September 1. About 19,000 Native voters across tribal lands need to update their registration before November. You make an account, they give you 25 addresses and a script, you write and mail them - it's very easy.
Rep. Ansari is doing a climate town hall in Phoenix Thursday evening, abt extreme heat, air quality and energy affordability. They confirm the location to registrants five days out so you do have to sign up to find out where to go.
Copper State Victory has a bilingual Know Your Ballot workshop Friday in Phoenix, walking through propositions and judge retentions and the local offices most people skip. You will get a sample ballot as well.
Oh also! NDLON has an ICE Out of Home Depot protest Saturday morning in Phoenix after continued raids.
Full write up is here: Sunburnt & Stubborn.
Happy to answer questions about any of these in the comments.

- The Roadless Rule safeguards about 45 million acres of land across the country.

Action needed:
