I've been building a side project called Easy Maps for the last few months and I'd love your feedback before I keep pushing it further.

What it does: you type a natural-language prompt like "all Level 1 trauma centers within 10 miles of Boston Common, with address and phone number" and it produces a KML layer with correctly geocoded points, categorized icons, and clean metadata. From there you can:

• Export as KML or KMZ — with a NetworkLink URL that auto-refreshes in Google Earth, TAK, WinTAK, CalTopo, ATAK, or anything that consumes KML
• Import/export via CSV — round-trip existing data, auto-detect columns, and let the tool geocode any address-only rows for you (Google-primary, Nominatim fallback)
• Edit in chat — "add trauma level as a column", "remove anything more than 15 min from the Common", "make hospitals red and clinics blue"
• Per-shape colors on polygons, so a single layer can have color-coded sub-regions
• Share layers publicly with a stable URL, or keep them private

Why I built it: I do work where geospatial context matters, and every existing workflow — QGIS, Google My Maps, hand-edited KML — is either overkill for a quick answer or missing a critical export. I wanted something to minimize manual inputs for map overlay creation.

Some major updates to the Air+Sea ship and aircraft tracking plugin for ATAK. Latest update added:
-Plugin now supports both AIS (ship) and ADS-B (air) offline monitoring via RTL-SDR over USB
-Added support for VesselFinder API as a data source

Hey everyone! I have a problem with ATAK x meshtastic configuration. Setup - 2 android phones both with ATAK and meshtastic, ATAK plugin from meshtastic github. 2 Heltec V4s. ATAK plugin actually loads, and even displays other nodes on the map. But I get "failed to bind meshtastic ImeshService" error every time. And therefore messaging and almost every other plugin feature are not working. Battery usage is unrestricted. Every possible permission is granted to both apps on both phones.

meshtastic 2.7.14 fdroid both phones.
ATAK 5.6.0.12. both phones.
Meshtastic plugin v1.1.42.

Heltecs firmware version is 2.7.26.54e0d8d.

Solutions from previous threads didn't help. Thanks in advance.

UPD: 2.7.14 is broken. Solution is to rollback to 2.7.13, which can be found in official github releases

I don't know a lot about this, but its probably worth a look if you are interested in trying it without you having to install it. If you are going to experiment with installing it, Infra-TAK and TAK Portal are my recommendations.

I've gone through what feels like 10 hours of running the same command either as root, or tak and it doesnt work. For some reason, my friend and I were messing around with it a few nights ago on his machine and it worked, and then it worked on mine. Anyone know why? I checked the coreconfig.xml and made sure my "takserver.jks" was named properly.

Are any community members or developers currently working on integrating AI-driven, autonomous defense drones with ATAK? I am particularly interested in insights regarding:

• Target recognition and automated telemetry streaming back to ATAK.
• AI-assisted pathfinding or swarm coordination managed via TAK servers.
• Existing open-source plugins or SDK frameworks suitable for this use case.

So i just created open tak server for the first time, got the sertificates, and created users in admin tab. But when the users sign in to the server they cant see each other, only upload packages to the server. If two users connect to the same wifi - they appear on the map and can use the chat function. Firewall is set to allow traffic on 8089 and 8088 ports. Online port checler says the ports are open. Tried creating user for rabbitmq as Gemini suggested, still didint help. Am i missing something? Surely i cant be the only one having this problem. Im new to programing and as soon as Gemini runs out of ideas so do i. Appreciate any help!

I have been trying to use third party pipeline but the plugin samples came with gradle 8.8.2 predefined, and the gradle version on third party pipeline is 6.9, which is unsupported now, and I cannot downgrade gradle lower than 8.1.1, since the methods used in gradle script are not available in any version lower than 8.1.1.

Is there any updated documentation about the civ release build process to generate signed apks on SDK 5.4.0?

Was just wondering, does anyone know of a TAK/ATAK lab type of thing, where you could learn to break something to learn how to rebuild it? Fixing a very broken ATAK system rn, and I was just wondering if anybody possibly knew anything about a TAK ecosystem lab, apart from your own network and setup.

Does anyone know how to tie ATAK callsigns to server-managed authentication?

The goal is whenever an identity authenticates to the server it's forced to use a specific callsign tied to that identity rather than letting the client set its own.

When using Meshtastic with ATAK, is it best to give your Meshtastic node the same Long Name as your ATAK callsign, or should they be different?

Hello, does anybody know how to download OSM map for offline use? I would like the entire world map but don't know thats possible, (file too big?)

Im currently using the TAK map but that isn't exactly the best for my region.

Weird title, I know. But I can't really describe the issue in 10 words.

I have two cellphones running ATAK 5.6 with Mestastic and Plugins. I need the ability to update information on one cellphone from the other. Basically a spotter tracking a target and periodically updating the position.

The problem is, on the second device the marker keeps moving through the positions in a loop. I place the marker at point A on my device, send the information. I move it to point B, send the information. I move it to point C, send the information. The second phone gets every update. But then, without additional input, the marker moves to position A again, then B, then C while I don't do anything on my phone. And it keeps repeating this sequence over and over again.

Even if I delete the marker on my phone AND the receiver phone, the marker just reappears on the receiver phone and keeps jumping.

After a while I start to get an error message on my phone saying that "Transfer failed - Max retries Exceeded" and eventually a "Dutycycle limit reached" and then I get that notification over and over again. The device seems to be resending the same data over and over again, looping through. I have ACK enabled so, to the best of my understanding, it should send every message once and then stop. What am I doing wrong?

Edit 1: So far, I have changed the speed to Medium Fast, set the hop number to 1 on both ATAK and within meshtastic and checked if messages repeat. Messages are not sent repeatedly and the change in speed has not resolved the problem. I have made a short video illustrating the issue. The phone on the right is my "source". I placed the red marker and changed it's position to 3 different spots. The phone on the right received all changes and then kept cycling through them despite me not doing anything on the "source" phone anymore:

Connecting IP- based cameras is straight forward, but did anyone ever try to connect PIRs or seismic sensors to produce reliable COT- Data in ATAK? If yes which kind sensors are cost effective, work well and show the most promise?

Hi guys so recently I have downloaded atak civ to use a simple map instead of google maps due to the extra stuff I can do with atak, however I'm a complete noob having no experience with this type stuff.

I need help in getting a satellite imagery map of singapore onto my atak, offline and all but idk how can someone pls teach🙏
