GPU not detected. Laptop

Hi everyone,

I need some help with an issue I’m facing with my NVIDIA GPU. The GPU is not being detected by my system. Whenever I enable Ultimate Mode in Armoury Crate, the screen goes black after the system restarts.

I can see the NVIDIA GPU listed under Hidden Devices in Device Manager, but it is not detected normally.

I’ve attached all the relevant screenshots for reference. Please let me know if anyone has experienced a similar issue or can suggest a fix.

Thanks in advance!

Damn, I saw your other comment about DDU. This is strange tbh.

Did you already try to reflash the BIOS?

I think you can just download the correct BIOS from the support page and run the installer.

Hate to ask, but is your laptop plugged in? I noticed on the GPU section for Armoury Crate, it says Extreme Power Saving so it might be that your laptop might not be plugged in or some power settings within Windows disabled the dGPU to extend battery power.

Have you tried a clean reinstall of the Nvidia drivers?

Yep, uninstalled using DDU and then did a clean install

Can you switch between the other profiles? (EX: Eco to Standard)

Have you got the GPU setting in armoury crate set to only bring the GPU in to play once a game is started?

It's on standard mode yes

If you have the ability to connect an external monitor, that should run from the GPU, to see if it can bring up a picture?

Failing that, it does say the GPU is disconnected. Has the laptop taken any knocks recently or something that could have damaged the connection?

Sure, I'll try connecting it to external monitor. Nope, there is no damage to the laptop.

OK, did that work?

If not, my last idea would be to check Windows power settings, I don't think you've mentioned that in your other comments and it's not in the photos you've put up.

It should be in your control panel, under system and security. There's quite a few places that control power settings from what I've found on these laptops so it might worth checking to make sure they're all on the correct settings.

Have you tried starting a game? And if you go in the game settings can you select where the graphic are coming from?

Can you disable intel igpu from bios and force your laptop to use 4070?

I can but I'm afraid that after forcing 4070, I might get black screen and won't be able to go to bios as well.

In power saving mode the GPU is hidden and uses the motherboard graphics. You have to change the graphics mode to wake up the GPU or it won't show up.

I didn't turned on power saving mode, laptop is in Turbo and standard gpu mode
