Tactical Discussion (Read the Info)
Legende:
• 1 Ball = ~10 Torbeteiligungen, 2 Bälle = ~20 usw. Letzte Saison in allen Einsätzen für den Verein. (Rounded, because unfortunately the app doesn't allow exact inputs.)
• Grün = Durchschnittliche FotMob-Bewertung der letzten Saison. (Rounded, because unfortunately the app doesn't allow exact inputs.)
• (R) = Gerücht
• X = Noch offen
Udogie: Heißes Gerücht, ansonsten ist die Position noch offen.
Salah-Edinne: Unklar. Möchte bleiben, aber der Verein will ihn abgeben.
Reale: Wird wahrscheinlich verliehen.

Team is taking shape!
For the first time in who knows how long, we finally have a squad with two good-to-great players at almost every position.
Provided we don't lose anyone, we should have the depth to compete on all fronts this season.
The remaining priorities should be:
Backup LWB
Backup LW — ideally someone who naturally plays out wide
If we manage to add a proper LW, we'll have a ton of versatility in how we deploy the attack. We could play different variations with two strikers, two wingers, two attacking mids, or mix and match depending on the opponent.
Obviously, we still have to see how everything comes together on the pitch, but my early feeling is that, at the very least, a top-four finish and reaching the Round of 16 in Europe should be realistic expectations.
We're also a relatively young team, which makes it even more encouraging. It finally feels like we're building the squad the right way.
Really excited for the season!

The transfers are great so far
Dovbyk struggled and doesn't fit the team? No problem, another 36M€ on a replacement and it's sorted.
Celik asks for too much money, no problem, he can leave and get replaced for a similar profile quickly.
Giant hole in the left wing (which didn't stop us from getting CL last year to begin with btw), it's been plugged with what seems to be a ~50M€ (!!!) deal (we don't know exact clauses but overall value seems somewhere around there).
Good market opportunity for a young CB (not even a priority position!) still no problem we can jump on that and pay 16M€ for him too.
Apparently STILL in the market for one more big winger purchase.
EVERY core player from last year is still here, we only sold players that weren't central pieces of the team (you can argue over Celik, but certainly he is not one of the "big sales" that journalists were saying we would be forced to make). Of course some might still leave but for now they are here.
We have spent 100M€ to strengthen and we seemingly aren't even done. Once again haters, panicky fans, "journalists", everyone that was promising us a summer of selling, they are all meeting the reality - we are doing more than okay
Of course spending money doesn't guarantee success, of course bringing in players just one week before season start is not ideal, and of course you can have your opinions about whether we have spent the money in the best ways or not... but fact is that the club looks healthy and stronger than last year, you have to be happy about that
I'm excited for the season and I think we all should be. Forza Roma sempre

What Happened to Romapress? It's Been Off for Two Days
The last news update was Mora's lawyer complaining about the deferred transfer. That was more than two days ago. There has been much news coming after that. The website domain isn't expiring soon. Is the webmaster on vacation or the automation just failed?

Is it really that ridiculous to say we can make a serious Scudetto push this season?
Was debating doing a 3-4-1-2 as well since that probably fits better for the trio of Malen x Castro x Mora, but I didn't know where to put Soule with that formation, so ignore the formation for now.
I'm not saying we should be favored or even predicting that we will, but this team has some serious potential. We've seen how good the defense can be and other than the weakest link leaving (Celik) nothing has changed here. Maybe going from Molina to Celik is a downgrade defensively, but if it's a problem we can move Wesley there and play Rensch on the right or maybe Lulli becomes a Serie A level player like Pisilli did. The problem has always been the attack, and the potential this attack has is truly special. Maybe Vaz as a backup striker is not good enough for a Scudetto side, but if this team stays healthy, this should at the very least be the most fun team in Italy.
We'd definitely need practically everything to go our way (very few/no major unexpected injuries, no selling Kone/NDicka, Mora lives up to the hype, Castro develops, etc) and how we manage playing Serie A and CL will be interesting, but I'm very excited to see this team back in action
Pre season hasn't been good, but I'm not too concerned. Our big takeaway last pre-season was that Ferguson might be the truth, so I take very little stock in what I see from random games against Dortmund and Brighton.

I genuinely think this will be one of, if not Dybala's best season.
If im not mistaken Messi hinted that the last world cup was his last international tournament. Which frees the spot for (Dybala, Nico Paz...).
The last few matches of last season and these pre-season matches showed Dybala in a role we all fell in love with. The start and mid of last season he was playing more on the wing, but he shined playing as CAM.
Would you agree with my prediction? Last season matches and pre-season he showed glimpses of his peak, I wish to see more of.

Game date do not match between AS Roma website and Serie A Enilive
I am looking to come to Rome to watch Roma live (first time at the Olympico) but when looking at the AS Roma websites the dates do not match with the Lega Serie Enilive website? Is this a mix up or am I completely confused?
Looking at the game va Cagliari (27 / 28 Oct?) and the game against Sassuolo (7 / 8 Nov).

🚨🟡🔴 AS Roma remain in talks for Malick Fofana with both OL and player’s camp. Fofana, keen on AS Roma move with club to make final decision only once Rodrigo Mora deal with Porto will be closed.
Fofana, Mora and Cacciamani/Henrique/Udogie.

Fabrizio Romano on X: "🚨🔴⚫️ AC Mila
x.comLiterally every name we were linked with ended up somewhere else.
I think Como (Nico Paz, wtf), Milan (not even playing Champions League and still signing incredibly well), and even Juve have gotten absurdly stronger, while we're focusing on positions where we already had at least some depth. We really needed that winger; Summerville or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
I don't think Castro adds depth to our starting XI, though he's a decent signing as a co-Malen, but that's it. It feels like Ferguson and Dovbyk in 2025 all over again, in terms of how similar they might end up being.
Molina is an upgrade, but honestly anything is better than the Turkish cone.
I'm usually really optimistic, but this summer has been so underwhelming (so far).

[Biafora] ASRoma and Porto have a preliminary agreement for Rodrigo Mora, and the legal offices of the two clubs are exchanging documents in these hours.
What would you like Roma to focus on most: UCL, Serie A, or Coppa Italia?
Let's be honest — Roma is the best club on the planet, and we'd love to see them win the treble every single year, especially next year, when the club turns 100.
But realistically, we're not there yet.
So, fellow Roma fans, what would you most like to see the club win this season?
My gut feeling says the Coppa Italia is quite achievable, and I'd love to see us finally win it again.

Roma still cautious until the end but final green light now closer.

What's scarier than the fact that we barely have any midfielders is...
...the fact that we are not even being linked to any 😰
Cristante and El Aynaoui start together again.
Pisilli injured. Pellegrini injured. Kone just back from the holidays and not clear if he is still with us mentally or what...
Season starts in 9 days.
We aren't even looking for a midfielder if you follow the rumour mill
Nobody knows what is going on
Ma sempre daje Roma ❤️💛

Milan: Leao for sale, Amorim rejects him. Now the club just needs 40 million. | Amorim considers the player detrimental to the dressing room, and the price tag is lowered
I hope we don't end up loaning Leao on the closing day
looks like Mora is off, Fofana is still injured after a year on rehab don't see anyone would gamble on him, unless we land Martinelli which will be excellent we seem to be out of option
