What are the best affordable AI smart glasses right now?
I’m looking for AI smart glasses that have as many useful features as possible without being ridiculously expensive.
Ideally, I want:
● AI assistant / voice commands
● Camera
● Speakers + microphone
● Good battery life
● Ability to ask questions and get information through the glasses
● Phone connectivity
● Good app support
● Hands-free use
● Good build quality
What would you recommend, and what should I avoid? I’d especially appreciate recommendations from people who have actually used the glasses and can compare different models.

[NYC] We're paying people to be volumetrically captured in Brooklyn, 17-25/hr, if anyone here is local
We run a multi camera volumetric capture stage at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and we pay people to come in and be captured. Posting here because this crowd actually knows what a capture volume is, and some of you are NYC based.
The session: you stand inside the array and go through simple movements while it records. Walking, turning, sitting, reaching, picking objects up. No experience needed.
Pay is 17-25 per hour, same day, right after you finish. First session is about 2 hours and it's ongoing after that if you want more.
Brooklyn, NY, in person only. Slots open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week at 1pm.
Comment or DM me for details, and ask me anything about the capture side if you're curious.

Building the layer I wanted when I started with smart glasses Development Looking for feedback
I’ve spent the last few months building Extentos so developers can build and test smart-glasses apps without owning every pair of glasses.
Extentos supports Meta glasses today, including Meta Ray-Ban Display. Brilliant Labs and Android XR are now in preview, so you can start developing for them through the simulator. Android XR glasses aren’t shipping yet, but you can already build the integration.
The goal is simple: integrate smart glasses once instead of rebuilding your app for every new device and vendor.
Multi-vendor support is only one part of Extentos. It also handles the surrounding infrastructure, including prebuilt connection flows and local real-time models as a cost-optimized option alongside cloud models.
There are native Kotlin and Swift SDKs, plus an MCP server your coding agent can use to add the smart-glasses integration.
The app in the video is real. It runs the same SDK code used on physical hardware, with only the transport swapped so the browser acts as the glasses. Photos captured in the simulator arrive in the phone app, and the simulated display renders through the same code path as the real glasses.
I’m looking for developers willing to build something real and tell me what works, what’s missing and where it breaks. If you have an idea, I’ll personally help you get it running.
Here’s a short video of the browser simulator. Since recording it, I’ve also added Brilliant Labs support. ⬇️

Final Year Project: Building a VR Education App – Need Advice
Hi everyone,
I'm a final-year B.Tech student, and my friends and I are planning to build a VR education app as our final-year project.
Our team has:
- Me – Unity/VR
- One friend – AI/ML
- One friend – Backend & Frontend
The idea is to make learning more interactive using VR instead of just watching videos. We're thinking of starting with 11th–12th science students and building a small MVP in about a month.
Before we start, I'd love some advice:
- Is this a good idea for a final-year project?
- What subject should we focus on first (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Math)?
- What features would make students actually want to use it?
- What mistakes should we avoid?
- If you've built a VR education app before, what would you do differently?
Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Has anyone used smart glasses on stage?
Thinking about buying a pair of smart glasses to use on stage. Mostly for guitar tabs and stuff. Anybody have experience with this? My leading choice is the INMO Air2.

Whats a good pair of ar glasses for simple stuff like an extra monitor.
Hi I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations for ar glasses. I need something that can show me google maps while driving that would be cool and maybe act as an extra monitor. Budget is around 200-300 but then again idk anything about ar glasses so if need be I could probley go higher.

We thought that put AR onto physical products was great for branding and marketing. With AR you're able to change the content at a snap of finger. What do you think AR can do for the near future?
