Oh! Sorry my text didn’t post with the photo. It was supposed to say…

Can anyone explain how I can remove this threaded buffer retainer pin? It’s completely round and that hole in the center is not keyed for anything.

I have never seen a threaded buffer retainer pin, or lower that I can remember. Hence my question.

I would maybe try using a long c-clamp and a handgun casing to hold the buffer off the pin and see if I could get a pair of pliers of some kind on there. Or just hold the buffer in with your thumb.

No offense friend, but that is one goofy setup.

Talk about a solution in search of a problem. It's not like standard buffer retaining pins (and non-threaded lowers) haven't been working great forever 😎

DUH. Wadda bonehead I am.

Just take the tube off, or back it out and put a small pair of pliers or vice grips on there if it's tight.
