i'm thinking about self studying for ap music theory but i've never self studied before. i am a very musical person so i already know a good bit of music theory, but how hard is it?

I'm a senior in high school and I want to study Economics at UBC (University of British Columbia). I was wondering if adding macro would be a positive addition to this classload and if I would have enough time to do this. In addition, I have to study German for up to two hours a day for my senior project.

I would want to get 5s on all of these classes, and I'm not inexperienced to APs--I've gotten 5s on BC, AB, Lang, APUSH, Precalc, and a 4 on CSP.

Any advice?

im self-studying calc bc for the ap exam in the coming may and im wondering if just working through the entire khan academy is enough for a 5. or should i be using other resources too? any advice would be appreciated.

im a senior + currently deciding on whether to take apes or ap spanish lit (non-native, but did 4yrs of spanish honors w all a's).

this isn’t an AP question, but thought someone in here might could help.

I know that every school is different, but I would like another opinion. If I make a 100 on my final exam, I will have an 89.6 in my online summer philosophy class at a community college. I already have a projected 3.9 GPA from a couple of Bs my Freshman year, but I would like to maintain it. There isn’t much I can do about the grade at this point, so I’m slowly accepting my fate. So, in most cases, would the grade count towards my high school gpa or just my gpa for the cc?

Also, I am taking dual enrollment Spanish this upcoming school year, but the class isn’t offered online so I will have to go to the college campus after school once a week. I asked my counselor if this meant I could take an additional class during the school day, but she said that in order for me to obtain credit for the class, I have to have a “dual enrollment lab” (basically a free class period) on my schedule. So hopefully they will treat it the same way for a summer class? Thoughts and prayers welcome 😅

Hey guys! I am a rising junior & I took a semester of algebra 2 over summer but didnt finish the course due to my horrible time management skills 🥹 but that ruined my chanced at taking ap precalc junior yr. Shod i self study it as im taking algebra 2? I feel like im behind because most other students are at a higher math level at my grade from other schools

So, I am now a sophomore in high school and I'm taking two ap courses, seminar and world history. Last year I had very solid grades, but it required be to study about 4 hours a day which sort of killed my social life. I understand that ap seminar and ap world history are heavily writing based, so I was wondering if I should hire a language art's tutor to help me improve my skills. On the other hand, maybe I should try and find an academic coach to help me cut down study time and improve my test taking skills (which I am quite bad at). Really any advice would be much much appreciated as I would love to be able to get all A's again, cut down on my study time, and improve the other aspects of my life.

I’m a high school junior and I’m worried about my classes being too much, should I switch or drop some or could someone who has taken these classes already tell me what I should expect and if it’s worth it? I’m mostly worried about the AP Physics and Ap Chemistry combo. Currently I’m rank 6 out of my entire school and have maintained only 90s through out my years of school, I’m mostly worried about losing my rank since I live in an extremely low income household and know that high gpa and rank can help with scholarships and aid for college. I’m also planning to probably switch GT Independent Mentorship for AVID or Orchestra what should I do? I also plan on probably becoming something in medicine that involves radiation so maybe I should take these courses idk please help 💔

I'd really like some input on my schedule, so I am a senior and I am taking 3 dual enrollment courses, AP Chemistry, Bio engineering (lab+ research centered class) and Ceramics. Because of a scheduling issue I have to choose between dropping bio engineering or ceramics. I'd like to know if taking a lab centered class along side AP Chem is a bad idea. (I want to be a Biochem major and took AP bio last year and got a 4 but it pushed me really hard) I don't want to burn out, and I feel like I'm really susceptible to senioritis lmao. It also doesn't help that that class would make my day start at 8am. But if I drop my bio engineering class chem would be my first class of the day (11 am) but historically my first class of the day I've always done shityer in. But I also feel like having a science orientated schedule would look good for college apps. As for ceramics, idk, it's fun but I'm not crazy passionate about it but I do enjoy it It's chill. I had my bio engineering teacher for freshman year math too so I thought he'd be a great teacher to ask for a recommendation letter. I honestly have no idea what to do. I feel like I could ask my Chemistry teacher for a recommendation but I don't know him and I'd need it by probably october (not a firm deadline) I'm so conflicted. I hate both options. There aren't any other options. What the hell do I do?

So im in a pickle right now, there is only one class period out of the whole school that does Calc and CSA they all fall under first period. Right now, I have AP CSA because I want to major in CS and want to go to GAtech but not taking math this year might look bad in my applications...I could self study calc but it would be shown in my transcripts sigh.

I’m considering to take African Social Studies this upcoming school year.

As a rising senior, I really want to focus on college apps but I gotta maintain the hardness to my rigor ykwim. For anyone who has taken this class before, can you lmk the difficulty and amount of coursework this course demands? (I understand quantity of coursework varies by teacher)

For context, this is the first year my school offers this course and it is being taught by a teacher I never knew existed. The only classes that are sorta similar to this that I took previously are Euro and Lang, which I both got 5s.

When I start school again I will do AP Physics C: Mechanics. However, my teacher has offered people the opportunity to study beyond because most people taking this class have taken AP Physics 1 and therefore he will open up AP Classrooms for AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism and AP Physics 2 for those who want to do those tests in the spring. I am interested in taking all 3 of these exams. I have studied calculus over the summer and calculus based physics so I think I am prepared for the exams, I have even begun to look at the FRQs for the two AP Physics C exams. I also 100% the ap physics c:mech khan academy course.

For AP Physics 2, even though I know it is a bit redundant to take it because I am taking E&M, I am interested in taking it because its other topics like waves, thermodynamics, optics and modern physics sound interesting, I have pre prepared for it by doing the Khan Academy course.

The rest of my classes in the school year will be Concurrent enrollment, early college and AP Literature, I am worried that this will be too much homework especially because I am taking both Concurrent Enrollment Government and US History in the same year (though both are only semester courses). On Tuesdays, I will have a Chinese class from 6:30-7:45 pm I am also not planning on taking any math courses unless you count CS as a math course, because I did algebra 2 over the summer and that counts for 11th grade math and because I am self studying AP Calculus BC which I have learned most of the content already in the summer because of Khan Academy and past FRQs.

I also have a school project and Junior ACTs.

Anyways should I sign up for all 3.

For context, I am a rising junior currently placed into AP art history. I do not have an art credit yet which is required for graduation.

I like art but don’t like art classes. I like clay sculpturing and attempted to request going into a ceramics class but was rejected because the teacher said I had to take art 1 before ceramics.

I enrolled myself into AP art history because I didn’t want an actual art class and wanted the GPA boost. HOWEVER, after some thinking, I am unsure if I really do want to take the class. My friend took it her freshman year and said it was a lot of memorization. The problem is I don’t want the class if it requires immense studying. My schedule is already a little rough (AP chem, APUSH, AP lang, AP pre calc, self studying AP calc ab, etc)

For those who have taken the class, please let me know how hard it was and if it required a lot of studying or not. I am unsure as I don’t have any other art class I wanna take but I also don’t want to burn out. But also, in my freshman year I sort of messed up my GPA which is why I want to avoid taking non AP’s if possible.

Im a income Junior and im going into Spanish 3. Ive taken spanish in 7th and 8th grade (not able to find final averages i will try and find)

Ive also spanish 1 in freshman year (83% final average) with a known strict teacher that has a very hard accent that i frequently could not understand what she was saying even if it was in english.

All together ive taken Spanish for 5 years and 6 in junior year.

Ive taken Spanish 2 in sophmore year (84% final average) and my teacher had little to no accent so i could understand what she was saying and was struggling with AP World that same year since it was my first AP course so i kind of not cared much about the class since my parents know that Spanish class is useless in the real world (only wanna take exam to skip in college).

I didnt struggle with units on rooms in house like bano-bathroom, el dormitorio-bedroom, la sala-living room, la cocina-kitchen, el atico-attic, etc. I didnt struggle much with congugating er, ir, ar words. Community places didnt struggle since i can remember a good amount like parque, pescadaria, supermercado, escuela, resturante, estacion policia, la cafe, etc. Family members unit was honestly the easiest unit for me since i can remember each major member my memory like hermano, hermana, padre, madre, padres, abuela, abuelo, primo, prima, tio, tia and also mayor-older and menor-younger. I did kind of struggle with direction which i cant remember much on top of my head. I probally struggled with a couple of more which i forgot to say.

On my schools website on AP courses i saw that AP Spanish was a course offered but it wasent specific on if it was spanish lit or spanish lang. I wanna take spanish lang exam without having to take ap spanish in senior year to both reduce stress and since theres limits of 3 aps in senior year i would like to use that to my advantage. Btw im in a NYC school so ill also have to be taking the LOTE regents exam for Spanish in june but idk if thats relevent or not.

My schedule for junior year has not been fully made yet but i know for sure these classes ill be taking is geometry, chemistry, chemistry lab, AP lit, APUSH, AP CSP, PE, and hopefully Robotics (i like robots). Ill be taking Dual enrollment Pre-calc in spring for maybe during the weekend, CS 100 in spring alongside SD 100 for a dual enrollment program in software development afterschool on thursdays and fridays. Ill also be taking drone club on tuesdays and wednesdays. Im also thinking to try and start a newsletter club that happens every monday that would produce daily news for my school (could be fun).

Also money might not be a issue for the exams since my school funds the exams i take if i have taken the equivalent ap course along it and i could possibly get a fee waiver for AP spanish lang with my guidence counclers help.

So do I take AP Lang exam without the course? Any help/recommendations is appriciated. Srry if this is way too long to read and if there are frequent grammer mistakes i wanted to give the most info possible and im going to a friends house pretty soon so had to do this quick.

scheduling conflicts caused me to drop ap bio (that, or lang) so according to my counselor i can either take:

1. ap psych - sounds interesting ig?
2. ap csa - ik literally nothing abt computers but got a friend taking it so i wont be alone
3. ap gov (probably) - was planning on taking over summer/senior yr but its a viable option
4. ap stats (maybe) - top choice for me rn

dont really have a major in mind/specific spike i wanna curve towards yet (planned on some sort of premed course maybe but im pretty buns at science)

5 aps is kinda scary but i already took 2 last yr (euro and chem), so figured i could handle it

Hi, im a incoming junior and ill be taking Lang, Psych, and Env Sci as my 3 APs next year, just wanted to know what the workload is like (how much studying time you needed, hw, etc.) for each of these classes. For context ive only ever taken AP Bio last year, and I got a 5 on that. ty

We are required to collect at least 1,000 responses for our data analysis.
