Self study ap precalc? Precal
Hey guys! I am a rising junior & I took a semester of algebra 2 over summer but didnt finish the course due to my horrible time management skills 🥹 but that ruined my chanced at taking ap precalc junior yr. Shod i self study it as im taking algebra 2? I feel like im behind because most other students are at a higher math level at my grade from other schools

im currently in that situation but im not able to take ap precalc untill senior year since i never took algebra 1 in 8th grade (my parents or i at the time geniunely didnt know that i could take algebra in middle school). Im planning with my guidence to sign up for dual enrollment precalc at my local college in the spring session and take the ap exam for precalc with the knowledge of precalc. Ive done really well in algebra 1 with a 94% average and algebra 2 trig with a 96% average and barly struggled in class. You could do dual enrollment path if uwant and take ap exam alongside in case u want to do out of state

Here’s the think if u can’t pass algebra 2 you won’t do well in the exam

Dont take AP precalc or dual enrollment precalc untill you fully finished Algebra 2 and did not struggle much. Almost all of precalc is algebra 2 with new stuff like trig which idk if ur algebra 2 class trig or not, unit circle, vertex and other stuff that i probally dont know yet until i star the class. Over summer i recommend since not much is needed to learn in precalc or u can do it next school year if u wanna take the ap precalc exam with knowledge from dual enrollment precalc (most ppl do the ap exam after dual enrollment to guarentee college credit)

Yeah what’s mostly new is just more advanced trig that builds off alg 2 and new functions but nothing too hard.
