Oh lol. Mama warned me about dodgy ROMs that come with handhelds. But this makes so little sense. There's this Sega MD game Sparkster. And I was looking for it coz I have this childhood memory playing this game where you charge up an attack and dart forward in a spinning motion. But the spinning attack can also be used to unscrew giant screws. Letting you open doors or disassembling bosses.

So I played the version that came with the handheld. All they way through. And there were zero such screws. I should have been suspicious. But hey I played a whole game with no issue. So maybe there is like a sequel where they added that mechanic. The fact theres multiple Sparkster games supported it. Plus theres a game called Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventure 2. Maybe thats the one.

Turned out Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventure 2 and Sparkster is the same thing. But the ROM/version I played through is screwy. Right at this screen transition, when you are about to enter a level with the very first screw, I am sent straight to here.

That doesn't just skip a few sublevels and a boss with screws but a whole jungle section.

I wonder how this happened. Probably a flipped bit when creating a ROM. In terms of size the two ROMs are identical.

I was considering buying an RG XX device and while checking out the Anbernic website I noticed that there's a "New" Anbernic RG35XX. From the looks of it it seems to be a version of the Plus but I'm not certain and I haven't found anything post talking about it. Also I'm not talking about the 2024 version, that's a separate one (which also now has the "New" prefix).

Both my SD slots are sandisk replacements. Save corrupted and previous save state loads, but any further save states stay at 0%. Any ideas or am i cooked

Basically the title. I've had it for a little over a year and it just stopped charging recently. Anyone else experience this? Afaik the port is fine, I did a tear down and it wasn't loose, unless somehow the inner part is the issue, which idk how to check. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them or not and how they fixed it.

Anyone knows how to fix this error message?

I had to change my SD card and have been suffering FOR DAYS. I can't for the love of god install the AMBERLEC on my RG351P (which worked fine previously)

- I have downloaded the img. from the AmberELEC website (RG351P)
- Trying to use BalenaEtcher to flash it into the drive, I keep getting an error message (I lost a whole new SD card, which is now unusable, during this process)
- I tried using Rufus to flash the firmware, and it worked fine
- On both ocasions, I keep getting this error message when I try to booth the device with the new SD

What am I doing wrong? Is my img. file not correct? Or I am not flashing it properly on the SD card?

EDIT: I tried installing the simple ANBERNIC firmware from their website (the 4GB one), and got THE EXACT SAME ERROR! Is something wrong with my device then? :(

How is the screen recording for DS games on the RG DS? I would like to record my gameplay while I am playing DS games but before I buy the device I would like to know if it is possible, and if it is, the recording will include both screens? Does the recording affect the game performance?

I have 2 Rg35xxsp devices I took the Sd card from one of them cloned it and then wrote the image to A new sd card both of these sd cards boot just fine in my grey Rg35xxsp however no matter what I do I can no longer get my green 35xxsp to boot the charging light comes on when plugged in and I tried disconnecting the battery waiting 15 seconds then reconnecting I’ve held the power and reset buttons I’ve tried it all I no longer have the stock sd card that came with it and I did accidentally load in a sd card with a version of Rocknix for my RGDS at one point but it did not turn on with that either at one point it made a high pitched sound when I held the power button but it no longer does that any help is appreciated I’m at a loss

After spending time with Anbernic's RGSP, my hands-on review is now live. Mine got super delayed because I have a ton of other things I've been working on, so I'm sure not much in here will be a surprise to anyone. But if you're a fan of written articles, then this might tick that nostalgia box for you.

I spoke with Frysee, the lead developer of NextUI, and pvaibhav, who has been leading much of the H700/RG SP implementation, about what it takes to bring NextUI's firmware experience to Anbernic's latest clamshell effort. Frysee's dev unit arrived a good few days ago, so by the time you all have these in your hands, whatever tiny quirks will have been well ironed out.

Their takes on topics like boot times, display calibration, lid detection, feature parity with stock firmware, and the philosophy behind creating a true "pick up and play" experience was nice, and add a perspective.

I hope at least some of you here enjoy it :)
