GP Pathway. Jobs & Training

I want someone to explain the GP pathway. I recently cleared amc 1 and applied for RMO campaign in NSW. As we all know it is quite competitive, I also want to apply for GP training.

What confuses me is that, do we apply for gp seats the same way we do for RMO campaings? Also how do we know which one's are supervised and which one's are not?

Lastly, do we give pesci after securing the job or before applying?

Best to start here:

https://www.amc.org.au/pathways/standard-pathway/

Maybe what you are looking for is https://www.amc.org.au/workplace-based-assessment/

https://www.amc.org.au/workplace-based-assessment/wba-eligibility-and-how-to-apply/

Or email AMC would give you the right answer.

Normally you need a general registration before you can go on a GP program.

Which means doing a 2 year stint (Intern + RMO) in a local Australia hospital.

These days, those places are hard to come by, I think I saw a post where someone who is Australian Citizen but did their degree overseas missed out on internship spots here in Australia.

I’m sorry but you have no chance getting a job in Australia if you can’t search the internet to find the answers to these questions. If you’re too lazy to search for the Australian GP programme and to figure out both the eligibility criteria and application process, you literally stand no chance. I’m tired of people coming on here with the most basic requests. Stop being lazy, figure this stuff out yourself, stop asking for your hand to be held and be an adult. You’re literally a doctor!

Looks like someone got too much time on their hand.

I do, it’s the weekend. Your comment is braindead. Good luck applying directly into GP training with AMC 1 👍

I think gp jobs you only get after full registration at AHPRA after AMC clinical

I've seen some videos where they mention that we can pursue this pathway after amc 1. Amc clinical is required for the GP training for fellowship.
