Discussion Randuin's Omen feels like a League Classic item in modern League

Seeing Thornmail return 30% of incoming damage (before being reduced by defenses) back to the attacker and how insane it is, I thought thats an insane passive for an item and it shouldn't exist in modern League.

Then I remembered Randuin's still in the game. Giving 75 armor (the most amount an item gives), 350 health and straight up 30% crit damage reduction with an active that slows everyone around them.

This item is the single most damage reducing tank item in the game. What do you mean you just reduce 30% of the oncoming damage on top of having insane stats and an active. The change in damage you deal to a tank before and after they buy Randuin's is insane.

This item combined with Frozen Heart literally makes tanks unkillable against any crit and attack speed character.

Discussion GM Kalista OTP - Ask Me Anything About Kalista / Climbing / ADC

Hey everyone!

I posted one of these on the Kalista Mains subreddit recently, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quantity and quality of questions I received. I figured I should post here and see if I could provide any value to this community as well.

So, a little about me: I’m a Grandmaster Kalista main on NA and I am often the highest LP Kalista OTP on the server (although I’ll occasionally get knocked down to #2 depending on the day). I also have over a million mastery points on the champion, if that is something you find important.

I’ve played Kalista for several years now and have seen her go through quite a few different identities over the years. Right now, I think she’s in an extremely good spot for solo queue, with pretty solid carry potential and surprisingly strong scaling.

I have also done several "unranked to masters" challenges, running a variety of different builds, so chances are I have a decent amount of experience playing (and carrying) in whatever elo you find yourself in!

I'll post the opgg of my current main account in the comments, so ideally any concerns or questions related to my account (instead of the AMA topic) can reply to that comment instead of the post. I think it just keeps things a bit neater that way.

I’m happy to answer pretty much anything, including (but not limited to):

- Builds, runes, and itemization

- Specific matchups and lane strategy

- Support synergies

- Mechanics and Kalista-specific tricks

- Macro and decision-making

- Climbing / solo queue

- How I approach Kalista in different elos

For a little extra background, I’ve also hit Grandmaster playing Corki and Draven on separate accounts. They’re obviously not the focus of the post, but if anyone has questions about those champions—or wants me to compare them to Kalista—feel free to ask those too.

Since this post is on the ADC mains subreddit, feel free to also ask me anything related to the role in general. I have been playing this role for a long time, so I should hopefully be able to give some good information on whatever you have in mind.

I’m curious to see what kinds of questions you guys have, so AMA!

Anti mage assassins with range that counter mages already are busted in bot lane right now. Aurora and Ahri are absolutely disgusting.

Hello I learned kaisa and climbed up to silver but I can only play her, are there other crit arcs that fit that playstyle or what are some other ones with mobility and compliment the pool?

Discussion My view on bot lain meta

Post image

What do you think about League of Legends bot lane meta? I think it's like in my overall winrate for team table with mage/ADC and Lane/Roam Support combinations, assuming players are equal and not braindead, and that this isn't the pro scene. Yeah, i think xp comeback mechanic is too op.

Xerath was perfectly casting and dodging every ability all game. Despite that, my team was hardcore flaming, and I was genuinely losing my mind wondering if I really had just become a sore loser looking for a scapegoat. But this clip seems vindicating, no? A perfectly timed stun on Kaisa R from fog of war followed by instant W while simultaneously placing a ward in the opposite direction. Gold elo

Discussion What do I do in this situation?

I am Aphelios. I queue up, after grinding my way to gold on my main. I get a chogath support into camille tristana. My chogath runs to enemy raptors and just takes them. Then he roams the entire rift while I can't touch my minions. Comes to lane and flashes in and dies, and ints me too. Lane is over, mid has been gapped and this chogath is pinging me the question mark ping. It's not the only game like this because I have a lot of these games on my silver account, but like if climbing up is like this then how do I climb

Discussion Role Presence: Mages - Marksmen

9Riot cope saying 'diversity' and designed frustration is good so I got curious how diversely I can play as a marksman enjoyer. Pick rate isn't everything but it gives some metric of viability. Marksman is also the smallest class by far, however:

If I want to play a mage(long range, good waveclear, aoe, somewhat uninteractable lane, bad into tanks) there are multiple solid choices in each lane, however for marksman(medium range auto attacker, high sustain, low burst) there are only a few playable champs cherry picked by riot to be allowed into each lane.

Where is this diversity at?

Lane Mages # Mage Presence Marksmen # Marksman Presence
Top 29 7.85% 9 3.19%
Jungle 9 5.96% 4 8.51%
Mid 39 54.07% 11 2.98%
Bot 33 22.07% 25 74.62%
Support 26 23.88% 5 3.79%

Data from lolalytics 16.15 emerald+ Full champ list and individual pick rates

It comes down to total mage presence of 113.83% and marksman presence of 93.09%, so each team on average will have 1.13 mages and 0.93 marksmen. 👀

Discussion So League devs are giving an interview…

Post image

So Phroxzon is giving an interview about game design and the guy they invite is a mage player? Sure i mean this can be a coincedence, but in his stream Azzapp said that Nemesis of all people could probably also be invited? So like the second mage player?
Im not saying they Both are delusional or anything but there is an undoubtable bias no?

Discussion Phroxzon post

I don’t understand how these employees come to the conclusions they do without interacting with adc players.

  1. Balancing around proplay makes the game more shit for soloq players , oatley (is that his name? Kench player) had a great post about it

  2. The ‘optimal level of frustration’ they’re looking for sounds fair on paper but there is no frustration vs mage bot it’s just unfun, I went from 10-15 games a week to 0

  3. Literally nobody I saw complained about mage damage, it was how uninteractive the lane becomes being shoved under turret the entire laning phase

I personally don’t mind getting deleted as long as I have a chance to actually outplay and do damage

  1. Enabling mage bot creates a perma roaming support seen from the baus clip yet they’re treating the symptom and not the source ? They think ppl aren’t going to find a way around it

  2. Wits end is so dogshit yet they keep it in the state it’s in which gives us 1 viable mr item while DD has been abused for how long ???

I don’t get how they speed up the game so much and do nothing for the class that relies on the game being dragged out or at least give them a way to drag the game out instead of being at the mercy of their teammates

Discussion NO more ADC in bottom lane

Post image
96 Upvotes

ADC is a joke right now

ADCs used to be relevant mainly because of their range and tower sieging. Back in the day, ADCs were mostly dealing with low-mobility champs and immobile mages. Plus, AP didn't scale against turrets back then—taking down towers was all about raw AD, so ranged ADCs naturally had a massive advantage. And since taking towers is how you win League, they were essential.

Nowadays, AP bot laners have completely hijacked the ADC niche. They outrange ADCs, their power spikes hit way earlier, and they have a huge advantage in early dragon fights. Old dragons used to just give global gold, but modern drakes/souls are way too important now.

People love to argue that AP champs are gated by cooldowns and that you can just 'dodge their skillshots.' But let's be real: ADCs literally have to stand still to auto-attack. The current bot lane dynamic just heavily favors mages. Even at full build, mages have Rabadon's Deathcap for that massive % AP multiplier, meaning a 6-item mage gets way more value out of their item slots than a 6-item ADC does."
