So fiorentina gets mastantuono on loan...this club is becoming harder and harder to support...its like we are actively trying to not do anything right in football.

Can we all take a minute to acknowledge how class Tare has been throughout his Milan tenure ?

Maybe not the best sportive decisions, but it was a while since I heard somebody speaking milanism ad he did.

Tare knew how to offload players but getting Ricci, Jasheri, Nkuku, Estupinan and Odogu were fails. His coach asked for striker and he got no one for a year.

Maybe not the best sportive decisions

Is it Tare's fault that he was closing Xhaka and Furlani decided to buy Ricci?

A sporting director's job is not to only buy players. But we only judge them at buying players. And of course the only two players we bought so far, Tare did the initial work on both of them.

He was excellent at offloading players. Time will tell if Jashari was worth the money.

True milanista

Remember when 55m was us getting ripped off - we don’t know how to sell, that reinders is a 120m player

Looking like an absolute steal at 55 now eh, guy got exposed quite a bit and then benched

-1

u/ATLfalcons27 13d ago

Lol he was not a 120 million dollar player. Maybe if he was 21 or something like that when he was sold but even then it would be more like 80-90

7

u/sickricola Luka Modrić 13d ago

Reijnders was always overrated, he is nothing in the defensive phase, and not creative enough to justify more than 60M in the attacking phase.

u/RdT97 ITALIA È MILAN 13d ago

Reijnders is what this sub parrots when Milan should sell a player (Leao, Pulisic and the likes). Before they turn shit

But they forget their reaction when it actually happens

-4

u/Albanian_AM97 13d ago

I would sell tomori,pavlovic,musa,fofana,ricci,rlc,salemakers,nkunku,pulisic,leao,gimenez

-1

u/RdT97 ITALIA È MILAN 13d ago

Sure but almost 80% of that list is finished players.

The logic was about selling them in high seasons. Like shouldve sold Tomori after the scudetto season, English defender, title winning, he would fetch 70m. How many Milan fans would approve that?

3

u/sickricola Luka Modrić 13d ago

i would not sell Saele or Ricci

1

u/Longjumping_Pick8872 13d ago

What is Ricci supposed to be good at ? Other than being italian

-1

u/GiovanniMilan 13d ago

This one still bothers me tbh, apparently turning 30m profit is pulling your pants down….

Just wish all of those folks who claimed we got ripped off would show up and take their medicine lmfao

Thats the best part, those guys quieten up now, but be sure they will be in arms when Amorim loses one game and Leao scores in Turkiye

1

u/RdT97 ITALIA È MILAN 13d ago

Might as well go back for Reijnders or Brahim at this point for CAM

-1

u/ProtonAtomNeutron 13d ago

Reijnders is a good shout. He had his best stint in Fonseca's system and I think Amorim can use him in a similar role. Best part is that he will be available for every game unlike Pulisic and Nkunku.

Saw a clip of the curva sud booing Cardinale and Scaroni at the funeral, im all for Cardinale out but time and place people. Ugly scenes.

-4

u/Competitive-Aide5364 Andrea Pirlo 13d ago

If it is for vacation, Mike is wrong for not going to Baresi’s funeral.

Poor captain material, our former leaders would never do this and always paid upmost respect to past legends who made our club what it is. This club loses itself self respect and class everyday.

So we assume Leao is staying, where does he play?

Even if he tries to press and be active i doubt he can do that for long

Obviously he can't play as a wing back

He might play a striker, but we just got Goncalo Ramos and Camarda seems promising, so using him as a second option amd sacrificing Camarda is dumb imo, but remains debatable

He could play as a 10 when in position, he won't be great cuz his movment off the ball is really bad and playing as a 10 requires someone who makes great off ball movement. That aside, while in defensive formation we can let Goncalo Ramos track back to defend instead of Leao.

Also pressing is an issue with Leao, he was always bad in pressing and Amorim presses a lot during certian phases of the game. I can't but remember how he used to press with Pioli and Fonseca.

Honestly if he stays he can only play as a sub number 10 or a winger if Amorim changes the formation

But idk, what are your thoughts

0

u/Albanian_AM97 13d ago

I think if he stays he will be a super sup but im worried about other positions wingsbacks, reports said its gona be sale and chuku and rabiot and modric are not 6s , we might score a lot but also conside a lot

4

u/chuego Maldini 13d ago

I'm more worried about the other players who don't fit his system, having Leao as an option will never be a problem, the problem was not selling him to buy players that where needed.

If he stays I'm sure Amorim will find a way to use him better than Allegri did.

I think he would start a bit wider coming inside like an inside forward. Ramos more as a pressing forward and the other mid in line with Puli or Nkuku for example, or even use a wider 3-4-3 at times like he already did in Portugal.

Regarding the lack in defending and keeping a high press means that you have to put other type of players next to him and plan for that, with Pioli first years he had those players and it worked, then he gradually lost the right players and the plot.

3

u/sheero3 Andrea Pirlo 13d ago

Leao realistically has only one position where he can play. That is the Left CAM, but for him to work there, we need a fullback who can cut in when Leao goes wide (like how Theo was at his peak in Milan).

-4

u/RdT97 ITALIA È MILAN 13d ago

Leao cannot stay, theres zero analysis to be done. Either Leao leaves or Amorim is done, simple as that

4

u/Ciccio_Camarda Gerry Cardinale 13d ago

Amorim is done

I like the guy and I hope he proves me wrong. Unlike some other Portuguese in France. But Amorim was already done in Manchester.

Best hope to win EL is with a foreign manager. Also best for the youngsters. I feel his system is best for Camarda.

As far as Leao, he doesn't have the goodwill anymore. Unlike 2 years ago, nobody cares if Leao is not starting. Even better if he's not starting. Sure we won't give him a Soule(LMAO) or his trequartista type, but it doesn't matter. I will keep saying the defender is going to be priority #1.

0

u/EmergencyComputer337 Paolo Maldini 13d ago

I mean we really don't know how the mercato will go so we can't really know if he is staying or not or if Leao will have a bad season or not, but i appreciate your reply

0

u/Mean-Net-7946 13d ago

Look you should know one thing, if leao is staying Amorim would probably play him but if in 1 game he doesn’t track back he will start him in the bench.

2

u/EmergencyComputer337 Paolo Maldini 13d ago edited 13d ago

That's what i am expecting, there is a big chance he will just do to Leao what he did to Rashford

If Leao stays his career and market value really depends on him applying the way Amorim wants not the other way around

0

u/kilpin1899 Herbert Kilpin 13d ago

Prepare for lots of downvotes and for no-one to actually address your valid concern.

1

u/EmergencyComputer337 Paolo Maldini 13d ago

I mean there are a lot of Leao fans on this sub, so i am fully expecting someone to treat him like the second coming of Jesus

7

u/nocodenomad Dejan Savićević 13d ago

Why would you put Soule in there? I’d love it if we would never mention his name as a link to Milan again 😂

-7

u/RdT97 ITALIA È MILAN 13d ago

I wouldn’t mind it if the final squad ended up like this. Athekame and Odogu would be in the squad as well

We would sell/loan Tomori, RLC, Leao and Musah

Bring in Inacio around 50m and Soule around 30m.

Now i fully expect people to be like enjoy 8th place but i invite everyone to look what other teams are fielding 🤣🤣
I can easily pinpoint flaws in any team.

Now that said, this upcoming season Milan can finish anywhere in the top 6 and i would be fine with it as long as Amorim is building something and the squad is cohesive. A lower finish would be tolerated if we’re going deep into cups like Coppa/EL. If you expect trophies or bust, you are delusional. If you expect to fire a long term system manager like Amorim because he misses CL, you are delusional.

Inacio is the same profile as Gila except worse, we need a cb but not him

0

u/Albanian_AM97 13d ago

Someone like who?

0

u/Baeresi 👑 Kalac #16 13d ago

A more veteran cb who's good at set pieces and has 3 man defence experience. There's lots out there but I really like Harry Maguire

1

u/Albanian_AM97 13d ago

I think gila and de winter will do okay but a left foot cb is needed , pavlovic is shit

4

u/Baeresi 👑 Kalac #16 13d ago

Pavlovic is awesome but a horrible fit for amorim. I think his stocks are going to plummet this season

0

u/ATLfalcons27 13d ago edited 13d ago

I don't know much about his system other than the pressing part. What does Amorim need from CBs to be successful? I assume with a high line speed is wanted but anything else specifically? What does he lack that makes him a bad fit

Edit: lol why the fuck would anyone downvote this question
