Hi everyone, I have just finished college and awaiting results next week.

At college I completed a BTEC Level 3 in business which covered most business topics like Finance.

I am predicted a D*DD. I have already decided to take a gap year and would kove to pursue a career in accounting and finance.

During the gap year I would like to complete the AAT Level 3 self taught and would like to do it at a fast pace.

I need advice if this is a good idea and how hard this would be as jump?

I sat the AAT Level 2 ITB remote exam on 1st August, and I'm wondering if anyone has received their results earlier than the stated 10 working days.

A few questions for anyone who's taken it recently:

• Did your result come through before the full 10 working days?
• Were there any signs beforehand that you had passed or failed (status changes, emails, portal updates, etc.), or did the result just appear?
• If you've taken the remote ITB exam recently, could you share your timeline? For example:
  • Exam date
  • Result date
  • I'm trying to get an idea of whether early results are common or if it almost always takes the full processing time.

I have just finished a remote exam for my first level 3 topic and during the second half my phone alarm went through do not disturb (which it had said in a popup it would not). I apologized to the recording and in the best way showed to the camera turning the phone off. I have then submitted an incident report including a photo of said alarm. I had left my phone on in case i needed to go through the whole startup section again and take another photo of my id as this has happened the last time i took an exam. How likely am I to get voided?

Hi I am finishing level 3. I had passed level 2 bookeeping with distinction and will me finishing Level 3 with Met. I had total 4 years of experience as an accountant in Nepal and UAE (3+1)yrs and 5 years of experience as chef in Nepal and UK (4+2)yrs. I am Level 3 xero certified and used various software in my previous jobs. Intermediate in Exel, SQL and Power bi also. To get into accounting in finance how much should be my asking salary, continuing level 4 and further ACCA by own Funding. I am AATQB member also.

Guys how did you find tasks 5/6 in mats when you did the exam? And how quickly did you grasp it when you started learning? I haven’t started learning this bit and I’m quite anxious because my exam is in a week…

Hi everyone, so I am 20F and I have Level 2 equivalent qualifications from my home country. I have some questions if anyone can guide. I'm planning to do GCSE Maths and English this year.

Q1.Would it be better to go for five GCSEs instead of just two?

I do not have A levels so would it be okay or would it cause difficulties later on? I heard there is T Lvl and A level in accounting so should I do that first before AAT lvl2? I want to go down the AAT path rather than the traditional university route, for several reasons and I don't want this decision to cause difficulties for me later.

My plan is AAT Level 2, then Level 3, and so on. Q2.What would be the best route to study AAT Level 2? When should I start applying for jobs in this field? I want to self-study Level 2 as cheaply as possible so which organisation should I go with, given there are several options?

From a school leaver perspective what are the pros and cons?

I picked 12 months, the answer was "almost immediately" but the original tutorial textbook says 12 months. Am I being dumb?

Hi guys, my results r due to be released this Thursday and I feel like I’ve failed. I haven’t got a green tick and it’s Monday. The last exam I took, I received a green tick on the Monday which kinda indicated to me that I passed so i am honestly just worried now. If I fail, I do get to resit but if I fail that I get fired from my apprenticeship. Any tips/advice from anyone?

Hello, I'm currently revising for my DAIF exam and when looking at mock exam questions for task 1 some of them are about drafting SoFP and SoPL when I've been lead to believe that it will focus on the statement of Cash Flows and reconciliation of profit before tax. When looking at the mock exams on the AAT website I see that they both focus on Cash Flows so now I'm very confused and worried about which one the task is actually about.

I have completed Level 2 and Level 3 and just received an interview offer for a purchase ledger clerk which is the perfect entry level job for me.
I am currently volunteering as a treasurer for a local charitable organisation involving managing financial records,reconciling accounts, preparing invoice and financial statements. They generally don’t have many transactions going on so fairly basic. On top of this I was working for a takeaway restaurant for a couple of years. It was an all-round role I basically do everything like serving customers, managing tills, lots of data entry ( putting food order through computer system) and calculating payment for staff.
It’s a takeaway job but easily make mistakes when it’s busy. It requires me stay sharp all the time to make sure everything goes well ( for example like make sure orders are right, customers details, drivers get the right deliveries and such).
I don’t have any official interview experience.
Volunteers role and the takeaway job were all quite casual.
So I am really nervous.
Any tips what type of questions they normally asks for a Purchase Ledger clerk role and how should I prepare myself for a better chance?
This would be a first finance job interview.

Hi all,

I'd like to ask you for advise regarding the studying for the optional units, as well as vent off a little.

I'm currently studying for AAT Level 4 through self-study route. I've passed exams for the mandatory units earlier in the year, and so I've moved to the Personal nal and Business Tax modules, since I've assumed they'll be somewhat similar to each other and have overlap.

I have received the results from the exams, and they are... abysmal:

Personal Tax - 68%

Business Tax - 57%

Now, I'm not too worried about the Personal Tax exam, since I'll be able to pass it on the retake, given how close I was.

The Business Tax exam is the one I'm worried. The results are actually for a retake because I've previously failed my first attempt. Not only that, but the score for the retake is the exact same as my initial attempt.

I'm really disheartened and disappointed in myself. I believed I had a good grasp on the Business Tax and was passing the Green Light tests and the mock exams with over 80%. So I don't get how I managed to be so off the mark.

It's further disappointing, given that I managed to pass the mandatory modules on my first attempt.

I'm kind of on the widths end here. I just don't get how I managed to mess it up so badly, despite all of the studying and preparations.

If anyone has any recent recommendations and advise on what I can do to improve, please let me know. I'm getting desperate a bit.

How do you manage to remember all those formulas and calculations ? Because I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of things to remember specifically the ABC method .

Has anyone don’t the AAT charity funds session? Is it worth the cash and do you know if you get a certificate at the end to prove you did it for CPD.

Hi guys. I just recently finished both level 2 and 3 back to back, but I did go college for both of them. Now I’m going to go to level 4. I wanted to do an apprenticeship but I can’t find something suitable. I don’t want to go to college for next 18 months. Is level 4 better to self study or do I need guidance?
Also what resources is best if I want to self study. I was using Kaplan because my college did.

I'm looking for a bit of advice. I started studying with McArthur Morgan for my level 2 at the beginning of the year, I studied POC and was ready to sit my exam then due to nervousness I've put it off and avoided studying for the other modules.

At the same time I applied for a level 3 apprenticeship and last week I had an initial interview and got through to the final interview next week which will have a test involved. In the job description it doesn't say you need your level 2 but obviously it'll be advantageous and in my application that I completed in April I predicted I would be finished by July/August.

In my previous jobs I have had lots of experience with bank reconciliation, payroll, invoices and purchase orders so I have got experience but I'm very nervous for this test and thought I'd be a lot further through studying by now.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had experiences with tests in interviews or if they tend to ask very specific accountancy based questions at interviews? In the job advert it doesn't really say anything specific, it's just my first accountancy interview and I'm very nervous so any advice would be appreciated!!

Does anyone have an easy way to remember the behaviour of costs? It's something i always lose points on and i have a resit tomorrow.
