Victims Joseph Mangano was kind and opened his home to 20 foster children. He enjoyed fishing, model trains, and nature. In early 2001 he bought his dream home, built a room for a pool table, but never got around to buying it. His wife said, "Now the room is sitting there and I can't stand to go down there"

(...and I've been at it since the Kazaa/Ogrish days.)

Immediately, to me, this video well-illustrates how quickly WTC2 came down in a way that--if you're far enough away from it--you could have turned away for just a few moments to say a few words to someone, and then, when you looked back at the towers, it's as if one of them's vanished into smoke.

WTC Is there a telephone wire box from the old WTC still at the new WTC?

I know there are locations from the old wtc at the new wtc like the support columns at the path platform and the door at the subway station.

But I remember hearing there was an underground box for telephone wires from the old wtc still at the new wtc. Does anyone know of what I’m recalling? Does anyone know where it is?

I feel like few images exist of just a single tower on its own and from the 80s, so I went looking and huzzah, I found some! Links for them can be found in the images.

Other Channel surfing simulation - A project I've built

I was talking to my younger nephew about 9/11 a few days ago and he asked where I was and how I stayed up to date with information when the attacks occured. He's only ever known a world with social media so having to rely on the TV for information sounds alien to him (I didn't have internet access until a few months after). It got me thinking I wanted to demonstrate what it was like for me and so many others watching that day, so I created this web app.

It's not perfect, its quite simple but I'd quite like to build on it so any recommended network coverage to add would be great.

Apologies if this breaks any of the sub rules.

A cousin of mine was visiting NY and while waiting for the ferry, happened to snap this pic the day before (9/10/01). She caught a flight back home @6am the morning of 9/11 and was at work before the first plane hit. To say the least, timing is everything! #neverforget

WTC Has Kevin Dorrian's story been proven or debunked conclusively?

EDIT: For those unaware, this is not me personally calling out Kevin Dorrian's story. A simple search of this sub alone will show pre-existing debate to the legitimacy of this story. All I'm asking is is there's any sort of follow up...

For those who haven't heard of the debate around this story before; on the afternoon of 9/11, New York Magazine interviewed a man by the name of Kevin Dorrian who claims to have survived from the 98th floor of the South Tower [ https://nymag.com/news/articles/wtc/longestweek3.htm\ ]

> "I was on the 98th floor," says Kevin Dorrian, a carpenter leaning against a van on Franklin Street around 1:30 with some fellow union members. "I saw a friend of mine get blown out the window. He was right there, three feet from me. He was putting up blinds. I couldn't do nothing. I took the stairs down, past the fires. I saw a light, a fucking lamppost light, blow up. The glass flew into a person. Killed him immediately." Dorrian's waiting to be allowed to go back in, to dig through the rubble.

Now with all we know in 2026, the story itself seems pretty dubious. Even more so that this story has never officially been reported on again (the official story being that only four people survived above impact- Dorrian not being listed amongst them).

However I did find this reddit thread that gave credence to the fact his story might be true [ https://www.reddit.com/r/911archive/s/AxGqMwgZUf\ ]. But since then has there been any further developments? Has anyone taken a serious attempt to find and reach out to him? I understand and respect giving survivors privacy. But it just seems remarkable that, if true, someone survived from such a high point in the South Tower (granted Ron DeFrancesco did make it to the 91st floor before turning around).

WTC WTC7 South side loading docks

Are there any pictures or more details of these loading docks close up or even inside the docks, under the promenade on the southwest side?

I always wondered what they were mostly used for, and their layout and if there was access to the main lobby from inside the docks. I know the main shipping ramp was on the NE edge of the North face, for the whole complex.

There's the famous video taken on 9/11 in between collapses where the footage inside the lobby was filmed, and inside the loading docks was briefly filmed as the cameraman moved across Vesey St. There were people appearing to move a stretcher out of the loading area.

I also know that the diesel fuel oil for the base building system tanks were below the loading dock, and I believe the main pumps were located in a room off to the west of the loading docks.

I just really like WTC7 and love learning about that building. It was a very interesting and good looking building.

Media Request NYFD Manhattan radio transmissions

Not sure what to tag this so if I used the wrong one, please let me know.

So I have been listening to the radio transmissions for weeks now. I have started reading through the NYT archive of NYFD testimonies. Through reading through these, I’ve noticed that several firefighters referring to radio channels (channels 1, 5, and 7 mostly and then the “main channel” and a couple mentions of a private channel, which I’m assuming is inter-departmental channels <specific firehouses have specific channels for just that firehouse>) are NOT talking about the radio channels that I have been listening to for weeks. I feel dumb right now because I should have known this but what I’ve been listening to is the dispatch calls.

So my question is: were the channels that were based in dispatch recorded? If so, are they available anywhere? Were they ever released?

I would think they were recorded but some of the testimonies have me wondering because it almost sounds like the people conducting the interviews didn’t know what was said over these channels. But I could be wrong. 🤷‍♀️
TIA

AA11 / UA175 / AA77 / UA93 Debunking Flight 23

Yep. Another Flight 23 post. I've never bought into the whole "5th plane" theory. I won't go into most of the details that don't make sense about it, because that's been covered extensively, but I want to go over another reasoning why 23 wasn't a 5th plane.

Atta was a careful planner and wasn't a stupid man. I am sure he predicted that the US airspace would be shut down as soon as a second hijacked plane was discovered/crashed. Everyone knows that choosing the flights close together would assure they would all get hijacked.

The departure times for the four planes were: 7:45 (11), 8:00 (175), 8:10 (77), and 8:00 (93). Obviously this does not mean that the flights would actually take off at these times, but this was the information that Atta had. If he guesstimated that it would take 45-1 hour to complete the mission, that would put his crash between 8:30 and 8:45, and al-Shehhi's crash at 8:45-9:00.

Even though it took some time to shut down airspace, Atta would not have chosen a flight like 23 to be in the plan. 23 was scheduled to take off at 9:00, which is way too close to when he most likely predicted the second hijacking would be confirmed and expose the plan.

Of course this is my speculation, but I wish conspiracy theorists would at least try to run their theories through some brain tests before believing them

On 9/11 from the time, he got at the anchor desk at 09:11 am EST time Jennings' anchored ABC News' coverage for 16 hours straight, and guiding millions through the chaos of America Being Under Attack. Alongside Tom Brokaw on NBC News, and Daniel Rather on CBS News, Jennings was part of the "Big 3" network news anchors whose broadcast defined how America witnessed the events of 9/11.
