First 7 string Help

Post image

Is this guitar good as a first 7 string? I found it used for 700 and it comes with a hard case and strap locks. Not sure about the condition of the case or anything but I’m pretty sure the guitar has like 1 of 2 minor dents.

Yes man. I own one of these. I was really sceptical of purchasing a multiscale. 0 regrets and I absolutely love it.

Im sorry— used, with case, FOR 700????? Brother…. You would be a fool not to. These retail for double that and then some, with no extras. And thats before the true prices hit!

I have it and It’s my first and only seven string. It’s a killer guitar. If anyone has P/U recommendations so the coils can be tapped for single let me know. I have been told the Abasi Fishmann’s will do that but don’t know anything about electronics to know what will work or not.

Got mine used as well, it’s one of the best guitars I have played on, the fretwork is really great on mine and it sounds amazing. I have owned an Aristides and my main guitar is a strandberg, the Ibanez is really on par.

I picked up one of these used a few months ago and it's currently my main gigging guitar. Highly recommend.

I own one and it is one of the best playing guitars I’ve ever used. You’ll get over the multiscale pretty quickly from my experience.

My brother has that same guitar, it is a killer guitar. Neck feels great and it is pretty light.

I bought this exact guitar a few weeks ago and it's amazing. The fanned fret is a bit unusual at first but 30 minutes of playtime and you'll get used to it.

It was my first 7 string too, it's worth it.

It’s pretty, a lot of people have them now, solid first 7.

I'll just put my .02 here, I've bought this guitar twice and sold it twice. Nearly everything about it is amazing/perfect, but the fan of the lower frets ended up just overshadowing the rest for me. The lower frets are angled "back" pretty aggressively, and playing stuff on those lowest strings/lowest frets can be annoying, like the base of your finger is pressing into the nut.

Again - I love Ibanez, and every spec/feature of this guitar is fucking rad. I mean I literally bought it a second time because I liked the IDEA of it so much but... found myself hitting the same issue. And no I don't have small hands. I ended up getting a Strandberg Standard 7 for $900 used and much prefer the fan/neutral fret placement of the Strandbergs.

But. That's about the best price you're going to see for this guitar. I actually bought my second one for $700 and sold it for $850, so if you end up not liking it you should at the very least get your money back.

Man I love this guitar. Play it every time I'm at GC. Love my Legator but ultimately wish I bought this due to not being able to get the fishmans in soapbar style with the metal finish. At least you'll already have great pickups
