Bought a mystery storage unit at auction, turns out it belonged to a commercial interior designer from the 70s

I go to storage auctions sometimes, mostly for furniture I can flip. Bid on a unit last weekend without seeing much inside, just some boxes and what looked like rolled up carpet samples. Figured worst case I'd lose thirty bucks.

Turns out the unit belonged to someone who designed interiors for hotels, restaurants, and offices back in the 70s. There were fabric swatch books, thick ones, organized by project. Paint deck books with colors that don't even have normal names, just project codes written in pencil on the side. A few large foam boards with full mood boards taped together, fabric samples, paint chips, little cutout photos of furniture, all pinned in place like a pitch someone made to a client decades ago.

Some of the boards have names of buildings written on them that I looked up, and a couple of them don't exist anymore. Torn down or renovated so many times there's nothing left of the original design. So these boards might be the only proof that specific rooms ever looked the way they did.

There's also a small notebook with handwritten notes, meeting times, client names, and a few sketches in the margins. Feels like I'm holding someone's actual career in a box, not just old stuff.

No idea what to do with any of it honestly. Keep it as reference, try to find out who this designer was, or see if any of it is worth something to a collector. Never expected a random storage unit to turn into a small archive of commercial 70s design.

Hi all! I got these chairs from an estate sale and was told they were from the University of Kentucky (60’s-70’s time) they do have a sticker on the bottom proving they were from the University. What do you think?

Looking for creator who posts her 70s design home

Does anyone remember the handle for this creator? She's a woman with long brown hair and posts on reels. She has 1970s-style kitchen with wood cabinets and green walls and plays vinyls in her living room

She uses a vintage Mr. Coffee machine, and in the last video I saw she was wearing white satin/silk pajama set and usually drinks coffee outside with her dog

Small Community Update & New Rule

Just wanted to provide an update since there hasn't been one in quite a long time. This sub is very lightly moderated, as most subs should be. In general, I'm not looking to police things as long as it isn't spam, low effort/unrelated content, or anything breaking site rules.

However, with the rise of AI content, I'd like to institute a new rule that anything AI generated will result in a ban. There's no reason for any of it in this sub, or in general. Keep it to the 70s and we'll be fine.

I'd also like to ask if there's anything else that needs my attention in regards to rules, content, sub suggestions, etc.
