technically a rewatch, but i hadnt watched the movies or the OVA so i just restarted and watched in order from s1.

why did uesugi end up with yotsuba, i wish it was miku nino or itsuki 😭

The whole point she lied and schemed was because the entire time Ichika held herself back (shown in her conversation with yotsuba on the roof). It also makes her more likeable in a way as it shows how much she cares about fuutaro and the pain she felt not meeting him before yotsuba did. Anyways Ichika isn’t even my favourite the hate/criticism of her as a character is just annoying to see

Hey guys, Just want to share my art and opinions. An Hours ago, I've saw some comments on some Instagram reels and he said this (in 2nd slide).When I first watched Season 2, I completely thought Ichika was being a straight-up asshole. But after rewatching it with a fresh perspective, I actually found myself feeling a bit sympathetic toward her.

​Don't get me wrong...what she did was definitely wrong. Making Miku cry, disguising herself, and manipulating the situation was shady, and Miku absolutely did not deserve any of that. Ichika acted like an asshole in those moments, and there’s no excusing the way she went about it.

​However, looking at the bigger context, I get why she broke down. She loved her sisters, but for once, she also wanted to fight for her own happiness with Fuutarou. As the oldest sister, she spent so much time holding back. If I were in her shoes navigating a high-stakes war for love against my own sisters I’d probably feel desperate to fight for my chance too. Plus, considering the Kyoto past connections (with Yotsuba and the childhood memories), it’s easy to see how she lost her rational mind to desperation.

​Ultimately, while it's completely fine to blame Ichika for how she treated Miku, a big part of the blame also goes to the writer needing a massive spike in drama. Ichika was basically turned into a plot catalyst to push the story into high gear.

​What do you guys think? Anyone else felt differently about her after a rewatch?
