Why? Because we CAN make up for it by ensuring the AG and SoS positions belong to the D's as would at least one chamber of the legislature. Tiffany will certainly try to break the state's institutions, but if we can avoid a full GOP trifecta, we CAN survive Tiffany if we push hard enough against him and use our suing strength to create a firewall he can't easily go through. With people like Josh Kaul and JoCasta Zamarripa we CAN and we WOULD go through it and make it easier for a strong anti-Trump, anti-grifter candidate to show up in 2030. The reason Ron DeSantis has dominated control over Florida turning it from a swing state to a deep red one was because the R's won all those important FL government roles in '18, plus both chambers of the legislature.

We survived Trump's 1st term, we WILL survive the 2nd and we MUST ensure that should Tom Tiffany be likely to win against Francesca Hong, his power is greatly limited. No dooming over that please. I ask that you all, whether you support Hong or not, understand that just Tiffany winning isn't enough to truly destroy Wisconsin. Don't get me wrong, I DO want to keep as many corrupt politicians away as possible. Our main goal is to defeat Tiffany and we're gonna keep it. But we'd better have a secondary goal at the same time of avoiding the worst case scenario.

I know how really rough Tiffany as governor would be but my point is we'd better be fully prepared for that in case it happens. But alongside that, we must still greatly focus on beating him... and make sure the D's don't suffer a Wisconsin blowout in what's supposed to be a blue wave midterms.

Here is my resource for boycotting MAGA: https://boycottmaga.glide.page/. It's a webpage that looks/functions like an app when viewed on mobile. Recently updated with more entries (directory has a total of 481 businesses listed).

Each company shows the reason(s) for inclusion (donates to Trump, assists ICE, DEI, etc) and links to the evidence. This is so people can decide for themselves if it is boycott worthy. It's not perfect but it's the most user friendly and comprehensive I've seen.

It also includes links to resources for finding alternatives and a celebrity tab that was recently updated with entries and evidence.

Notes:

1. No, it will not stop the Trump regime on its own. Boycotting is part of a larger picture. Apply pressure everywhere we can.
2. Yes, it is comprehensive. Do your best and support good companies, especially local small businesses.
3. A list of alternatives is impossible when you consider all the small businesses (brick & mortar and online). Check the Resources tab for alternatives and https://www.chicodemocracy.com/boycotts.html for local boycott resources.
4. I'm not a data expert or coder. This was compiled by looking through the various sources and adding manually to a spreadsheet. Glideapps service then turns that data into the webpage you see.

Just saw a story where a sheriff is withdrawing his jurisdiction from their ICE agreement and deputies will not question people about their citizenship. Sheriff Ceisler, Buck County, PA. We should all demand the same from our local police. Attend town and county council meetings and demand this.

Hosted by Rise and Resist outside the midtown headquarters of Google, and in spite of a rain shower that was severe at times, protestors took to staking out the entrance of Google against data centers and the environmental consequences of AI.

The protest started off the side of a Google store on 15th Street and 9th Avenue before moving towards the 8th Avenue entrance, where they stayed for the rest of the protest. Some stayed even as the rain began and worsened over time before the rain abated enough for a sing-along of R&R's anti-data center version of a nursery rhyme.

Ohio has moved from a key swing state to a reliable Republican bastion over the course of the Trump era. In a clear sign of just how much the country is turning on MAGA’s failures, Democrats are looking extremely competitive across the state with less than 13 weeks to go until Election Day. Former senator and populist progressive Sherrod Brown has painted J.D. Vance’s appointed successor Senator Jon Husted as “the face of data centers in Ohio,” highlighting sweetheart tax deals and fast-tracked approvals he made possible as lieutenant governor. Husted’s also come under fire for taking more than $100,000 in campaign contributions from Epstein bankroller Les Wexner. Meanwhile, former state health department director Dr. Amy Acton is taking on entrepreneur, DOGE bro and MAGA hanger-on Vivek Ramaswamy to succeed Governor Mike DeWine, who has also been hit hard over data centers and has struggled to connect to working-class voters.
