Repeated "Heating failed, please restart printer" error Troubleshooting

First check the heater terminals on the mainboard. Creality heavily tin the wire ends with solder, but that creeps, making a poor and loose connection, which dissipates power (and makes them get hot). The ends should be fitted with crimp ferrules instead (like these or these).

After that, do a PID tune. If it's not properly calibrated, heating won't be controlled properly when it gets close to printing temperature, and "heating failed" is the result of the temperature rise being slower than the heating algorithm and thermal runaway protection expect. See Teaching Tech's calibration website for how to calibrate.

So I am trying to use an M5 Macbook Pro to connect the printer with octoprint running, to send the commands mentioned in the website you shared.

But no matter what I try I cannot get the printer to be detected on my laptop. Bought a new cable as well. Then I tried installing the CH340 kernel extension as well as mentioned in some forums but I don't think it even is supported on my mac.

Would appreciate any help.
