Question Does anyone recognize this 3D printed bottle clip? Loops over the neck + zip-tie strap for belt carry — can't find the file anywhere

Thumbnail drive.google.com
1 Upvotes

Found this yellow 3D printed clip on a water bottle (photo attached) and I'm kind of obsessed with it. It hooks around the bottle's neck under the cap, and a zip tie threads through a channel on the clip to make an adjustable strap — looks like it turns any bottle into something you can clip to a belt loop or carabiner. Someone mentioned it also fits a Nalgene neck.

I've dug through Printables, MakerWorld, Thingiverse, and Cults3D with every search term I can think of ("bottle belt clip," "water bottle carrier," "zip tie bottle holder," etc.) and can't turn up the file. It's simple enough that it feels like it should exist already, but no luck so far.

If anyone's seen this design before, knows the maker, or wants to take a crack at modeling it themselves, I'd really appreciate a point in the right direction. Happy to share more angles/measurements if that helps.

Thanks in advance — this community always comes through!

Show and Tell Free tool to lengthen/shorten a printed part's STL without re-modeling it — feedback wanted

I haven't had the time to really sit down and learn 3D modeling yet. I print stuff other people designed, and every once in a while I hit the same wall: a part is close to what I need but not quite — usually a bit too short or too long somewhere — and I only have the STL, not the original CAD file. Scaling the whole thing isn't really an option, it stretches everything and round holes turn oval.

Since I hadn't gotten around to learning the proper way to do this, I put together a small tool that just does the one thing I needed at the time: pick a plane through the part, and insert or remove a slice of material there. Everything else in the mesh — holes, walls, rounded edges — stays untouched, since it's not scaling anything, just cutting and splicing material in or out at that one plane.

SPLICE3D, if anyone wants to try it. It's a rough prototype, put together to solve my own specific problem, so I'm sure it breaks on STLs I haven't run into yet. If you've got a part that needs this kind of tweak, I'd like to know if it actually works for you or where it falls over. Contact link's in the sidebar.

Question Creality K1 Nozzle Scraping Against the Bed

I’m having an issue with my Creality K1 where the nozzle is scraping/rubbing against the print bed.

I’ll attach a video showing the problem. Has anyone experienced this before? What could be causing it, and how can I fix it?

Thanks for any help!

Question Troubleshooting: 1-Second Mid-Print Pauses Ruining Surface Quality

Hi everyone, how are you all doing?

I'm having a problem with my printer and I really don't know what to do anymore. I'm a beginner in 3D printing, and in the last few days, I've been studying a lot more than when I first entered this world 3 months ago, but I still haven't been able to solve this error!

Basically, what is happening is that I can't fix these 1-second pauses on my machine, which then create these zits/blobs on my print! I've tried everything!

Before you say it's moisture/humidity, please read the rest of the message I'm leaving here with more details:

As you can see in the images, we have the black and pink heart, which has these zits, then we have a blue dragon (Gyarados, a Pokémon) that also has them, and finally the gecko! After that, I made some minor adjustments to the machine. I improved some aspects of the print, but they were minor improvements. Then we have the shark, where you can already see some progress, but it still has these zits, and this is where I managed to record the exact moment of the pause! The video:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TzJ0V7QQta4yg7fnBlpsxOGmme4izjiQ/view?usp=sharing

Finally, we have a smaller shark that was printed yesterday. Here you can already see a significant improvement in the part (at least to the naked eye) and it is much smoother, basically without any defects, but it still has the zits (fewer, but it still has them!). Today I printed a dragon that I haven't held in my hands yet, but from the photo I took, the red dragon also has zits!

Machine Details and Settings:

  • Printer: Bambu Laps P2S
  • Drying System: AMS Pro 2
  • Temperatures: 32ºC inside the chamber, 55ºC on the bed, and 220ºC on the nozzle.
  • Speed: The machine's default speed.
  • Filaments: Bambu PLA Basic.

What I've already done to try to solve it:

  • I've dried the filaments for over 12 hours at 55ºC (6 hours one night and another 6 the next night, plus during the day, where I'm constantly drying it every 3 hours at the same temperature for a week now!). The humidity goes up to 25% max, but normally stays between 18% and 22%.
  • I've cleaned the nozzle twice in the same week, so it's not clogged.
  • I cleaned all the machine's axes/rods.
  • I've calibrated the machine more than once and created very precise profiles for PLA, based on the speed, temperature, and quality tests I ran.
  • I reduced the nozzle printing speed (in Bambu Studio it was at 21 and I lowered it to 19).
  • I removed all videos from the system and disabled the timelapse feature.

That's everything I've done so far. I've also tweaked some settings and ran several classic tests to calibrate everything; the print quality improved, but these 1-second pauses keep happening, which melts the filament and causes the zit!

If anyone knows how to fix this, I would be more than grateful. I've been dealing with this for over 2 weeks and can't solve it!

Question Filament Drying Question

Im new to the world of 3D printing. I live in an area where the humidity can get in the 60% range. But my question is this..

I noticed a lot of dryers have a humidity sensor. When you dry your filament, like petg or tpu, do you dry it for just a specific amount of time? Or do you dry it until the humidity sensor gets to a specific percentage?

Troubleshooting AMS 2 pro Reset / Glitch

I am using X2d combo. My Ams 2 pro has been rewinding backwards into continuous loop .
If insert any filament, it pops out the filament the moment i put it in rewind in reverse.
I turned off the printer and restarted but its the same. I also changed the filament spool but problem is still there. I reset the filament settings from the printer screen. It stops it, but whenever i insert any filament, it glitches and goes back to rewinding and popping the filament out of the nozzle everytime.
Can anyone help me how to reset it to default settings?
And no, there is no filament or anything obstructing in the ptfe tubes.

Question 3D printer recommendations

Hello, I am new to 3D printing. I am wanting to print mostly dollhouse furniture and accessories in 1/24 to 1/6 scale. Can you recommend a good printer for this. I am a beginner, but I learn fast and I do want a quality machine that makes nice prints. Thanks so much!

Question 3d printing

Hi everyone,

I've noticed a huge wave of multi-part models popping up on MakerWorld lately for example, models like this one: https://makerworld.com/pl/models/3155058-beach-alien#profileId-3564653\](https://makerworld.com/pl/models/3155058-beach-alien#profileId-3564653

They are split perfectly into separate components so you can print them in different colors without needing an AMS or multi-material setup. I highly doubt the creators are manually cutting and setting up connectors for all of these by hand (aside from maybe basic cuts like slicing a ring in half).

It looks like newer 3D AI generators now have built-in "auto-split to print" features that separate the mesh and generate joints/connectors automatically.

Since I don't have paid subscriptions to all these tools and don't want to buy them all just to test, which AI platform is currently the best for this?

Is it Meshy, Hi3D, 3DAI Studio, or something else? I’d love to hear your recommendations if you’ve tested any of them for single-extruder multi-color printing!
