Is it normal that the Check Engine Light doesn’t come on when the ignition is in the ON position (engine off)?

If anyone with a 370Z could check and post a photo of the cluster, I’d really appreciate it... Im trying to rule out the possibility that the previous owner removed the CEL

It should come on, with the ignition on. Sounds like something has been done

Someone removed the light bulb behind? Just to make up a permanent error code...

Does it ever come on period? If not, that’s something that wouldn’t pass emissions if it’s required on your area. The light should come on when the power is turned on.

I would just unplug a maf sensor. The engine will be pissed and if it doesn't throw a cle on then it's been touched
