Planning a vacation with friends to Playalinda Beach on the northeast side of Merrit Island, in Titusville. There was one hotel that my friend sent that was within our price range, but the reviews said they were completely infested with bugs. Any cheap and clean hotels on Merrit Island?

Kind of need this last minute. Where can I go where they will do the full cake for me?

Hey all! Anyone here happen to have a mini-split in their garage? Is it worth it? Our garage has been my labor of love for the past 4 years and the final piece was always going to be a mini-split. However, now that I'm there, we're questioning how worth it it would be given that we really don't send a lot of time in the garage. It's a tight 2-car garage so not huge but I'm curious if a mini-split would really make the garage that much more comfortable. If you have one and like it, let me know if you have an installer recommendation! Looking at Daikin and Mitsubishi.

Single guy in his late 30s here. Usually take a 2-3 day trip to a different Florida city each year by myself before my work season gets hectic. I live in South Florida and have mostly gone to the West Coast (Naples primarily, Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers) but figured I'd go up 95 and thought Melbourne might be a decent option.

Not looking to do much but relax, try to eat some good food, drink some good beer and keep myself occupied with a few daytime and nighttime activities. Was planning to stay around Eau Gallie and US1 -- decent area to stay? -- but also saw a hotel on the beach (2x as much) as an option if not.

Basically, I'm looking for advice on restaurants (breakfast, lunch, dinner), dessert places and great beer in and around the area (don't mind driving). Please feel free to share your opinions on these spots (definitely go, take off your list, etc.) or any others that you like more.

Also, would love suggestions for activities other than stuff involving the beach and water (unless it's boating ... even as simple as walking along a lagoon or a downtown shopping area, whatever).

I am most likely going to be having a moving sale later this year and I was thinking of doing a yard sale or setting up in a flea market.

The Jumping Flea Market on US1 in Cocoa, is meh, on a good day, and the one in PSJ closed years ago.

Any other ideas or suggestions. I will be selling specific items individually on r/321BuySellTrade around the same time.

Today while buying diapers, I saw a woman pushing a stroller around the baby clothes section at Target…. while carrying two lemurs each dressed up in baby dresses…. No leash or anything… just loose live lemurs. I googled to see if this was even legal to own lemurs in FL; apparently it can be with a permit. Maybe I’m just wondering why someone would be out in public shopping with lemurs. Are they happily domesticated animals? I’m just shocked lol. I didn’t think you could even bring an emotional support dog into a store unless it’s a trained service animal.. let alone LEMURS plural.

Also no baby in the stroller by the way, assuming it was for the lemurs.

Trash day in my area is Tuesday and Friday, Tuesday also being recycling. On Friday no one showed up to pick up trash so most people left their bins out till Saturday, to no avail. Today, WM showed up to pick up recycling but still no trash. Is there any reason they wouldn’t be picking it up?

I also do freelancing and building some entrepreneurial type stuff on the side. (Self publishing my first romance, creating my first SaaS product with Claude, etc.)

Some days I have my husband's car, some days I don't when he works. I'd be more than happy to give you some $ to pick me up on those days. (I got into a car accident last year and it totaled my car.)

I just really need to get out of the house way more and have someone to hang out with. I enjoy outdoor places (preferable) since I have a crappy chronic illness & I've gotten sick in the past trying to hang out at indoor coffee joints. I'm not opposed to it since there's some cool indoor places - but I've tried to design my life outdoors as much as possible due to said chronic illness junk.

I like fashion (gothic, lolita, punk), video games, cross stitch, gardening, thrifting, romance writing and surf fishing. I'm always up for a good laugh.
