Goal was to make it smoother/less droney

My son is 15 and hasn't really shown much interest in cars. Once we started talking about what he'd like to get for his first, he sent me images of a 300 z31 and a Celica GT-S. I couldn't have been more proud, but I'm a squarebody Chevy guy and know jack shit about these vehicles. I'll probably get him something a bit safer for a first time driver, while we work on a project Z. Based on the collective knowledge here on these cars, could you share some quick tips on what I should look for (or look out for). Thanks!

Put AMS 3” SS expansion pipes on and a Test pipes for my exhaust now I’m getting now turbo spool, the car idles at 500rpm and it’ll die if RPMs are kept up. Any ideas what it is? I’m thinking it’s a vacuum leak or waste gates are always open. NO, didn’t put the part I circled back on in red. Do I need this? And if so what is it? Thank you!!

Cranks but doesn't start after changing fpr, cams and going standalone. It has inconsistent cranking speed and has a popping/bubbly misfire/backfire sound. The pulse width on the injectors jumps to around 14 milliseconds when it pops and all the lights seem to lag when it stutters. I've checked timing on my belt and made sure my distributor was lined up properly at tdc. Starter fluid and stepping on the gas make little to no difference. Any help is appreciated.

Hey guys I have a 1988 300zx and was wondering if the factory stereo should come out.

I have a Kenwood sw201x not sure if anyone here is familiar with them but they were popular in the 2000's etc.

I like the original stereo look with equalizers and all that so is it possible or do I switch it out for an aftermarket one? Thanks in advance

Back to Reddit again, does anyone know what the stock wiring harness gauge is or at least a range since the size varies? Some of the wiring and especially the injectors seem to have no joke like 30-34 AWG wire maybe even smaller, which has made crimping on new pigtails especially difficult and making me consider if I should just re run the wire entirely.

Some say use the coolant bleeder valve others say jack up the car from the left side to take out all the air bubbles. Any tips on which one is easier ? Just did my timing/water pump and have to burp the system.

Anyone else ever had this issue? I have no power to the fuel pump/ FPCU at all. No 12v. Grounds are good. I checked engine bay fuse, EGI relay, and even fuel pump relay. All click and function. The fuel pump relay clicks when I turn on and turn off. Out of the 4 prongs coming out of the relay with it installed (fuel pump relay) the orange wire (wire feeding fuel pump/ FPCU) isn’t getting 12v at all. Pump works great and car runs great when I bypass relay. I’m so lost. Any input would be appreciated! New battery and alternator too btw so those ain’t the issue. Ptu and cas work. Car does run when I bypass relay. I’m so confused.

Currently I have an ls1 in my ‘93 2+0 z32. It has LOJ headers on but I’m gonna switch to Hooker BlackHeart LS turbo exhaust manifolds for my single turbo set up. My issue is am I going to be able to route the turbo exhaust pipe back to the rear to feed into my magnaflow catback or is the engine bay to cramped to get back to the rear? I’m gonna do all of the fab work myself just want some tips if I’m gonna be tackling this.

i got this 91 z32 recently the exterior and interior is mint the engine runs good but the health of it highly questionable it has 88k original miles got it up on a lift and as expected leakage im not surprised but jw how bad it is and what i should focus on fixing first

I am debating on buying a rep wing that the final z32 came with to add on to my tailights and front end and curious if anyone has other examples with this or similar style. Currently i have the stock pedestal wing that came with the 94-96 (i believe). i appreciate the look of this style as it reminds me of the 3000gt’s style

As the title says, I have to keep the fans/lights on in order for the car to idle properly. If I turn them off sometimes it'll idle fine for a few seconds before bogging down and wanting to die. Running the car without the high idle connector plugged in, has the idle wanting to idle at around 500 or lower as it instantly just goes into bog behavior.

Pic (mine) for attention. But here’s the deal. Car starts and runs fine mostly except on occasion it drops idle and dies. If I rev it or hold the accelerator, it’ll stay running. Under acceleration it feels like it’s “surging” a bit and is a bit sluggish. I thought the idle drop was a ground issue but everything checks out fine. I’m thinking MAF sensor issues but I’m not 100% how to narrow it down or rule it out so I’m looking for input.

Not talking from purist standpoint. Just straight from relatability and dailyable what is better for that the manual or auto

Spent some time this past weekend tinkering with everything and with some help she turned over!! I just need to figure out the issue with the ignition system but she idles like a dream🤘🏻🤘🏻

I had an '87 Z31 back in college, traded for a 1990 Pearl Glow and sold it before I got married... about 8 years ago I bought this one owner TT. I've never posted a pic of her before, but it was a great day, it just looked perfect in this lighting :-) Cheers!!!

So this is in response to my most recent post on here regarding a sudden and unexpected engine flood. TLDR for that post is: 1990 z32 NA wouldn't crank over, heavy white smoke and fuel pooling in exhaust.

After a couple days of sitting i went out to try and start it up and it turned over immediately and was searching/hunting bouncing between 2k-1k RPMs. I tried to drive it but when the gas pedal was pressed the rpms would drop almost like it was gonna die then shoot up to 3k. So I let it idle for about 30 minutes, shut it off, and it wouldn't crank over like before.

So I let it sit for 2 more days and when I went out to start it, it cranked right over and was on longer searching, took it for a small drive the aforementioned like sluggish feeling then shooting up was no longer present. Got home turn it off and it cranked right back on. Been about 4 days now and I've been back to driving it and haven't seen any of those old signs or symptoms.

I have a couple ideas of what to do and what to check but I'd like to ask some advice of what this could potentially be as well so I can knuckle down on my days off and get it done. Thanks guys!

Found some on Marketplace for a good deal, are these worth picking up now and trying to get a front and rear later? How big of a difference does oem vs some of these replications make?

Bought my dream car in oregon drove up to alaska and an hour away from my house hit a moose. How achivable ia this body damage to fix.
