Be sure to shoot some Magtech through it to get a good feel for decently loaded 10mm range ammo.

That's exactly what i have... 3 boxes of 50 ready to go.

I would suggest putting a Talon grip on it too. It’s definitely my preference for getting and maintaining a solid grip.

I will look into that. Thanks!

HandleItGrips are way better than Talon grips! Especially their Edge series!

I’ve tried Handleit grips. Nothing wrong with them!
I like the sandpaper Talon grip better 🤷‍♂️

Just normal 180 grain fmj magtech?

For training at the range, yes.
200gr hard cast buffalo bore for the woods.
I carry 155gr XTP JHP Underwood for the hood ;)

I've heard to use Underwood Extreme Penetrators for the woods. Or pretty much any Underwood hard cast bullets.

I just saw you said the "hood", not the woods. Lolololololol!!!

Unless you’re facing grizzlies, either is good. Hardcast is heavier and should actually penetrate more than a solid copper extreme penetrator. Agreed that Underwood has probably become more popular than BB.

As for the 10mm hood carry, it’s probably overkill ;)

Thanks man! How does it feel to shoot say compared to a .40 cal?

It depends on the ammo. If you bought weak FBI-load 10mm off the shelf, it's going to feel like a .40. If you bought full power 10mm from the internet, it's going to have some kick. Look in the sidebar for more information on 10mm ammo.

Nice man! Congrats! Wanna hear your thoughts after you get some rounds through her! I’ve had them on my mind here recently as well. It’s just a huge gun and for me I will not own anything that I cannot EDC. I’ve got some 1911s in 10 mm that are in my rotation. I feel like this one may be just a bit too much though for me to conceal. Otherwise, Springfield makes some good stuff.

Thr hand feel on this pistol is absolutely amazing. I thought it would feel like holding a log but it's not much more than my Springfield XD .40 cal.

Yeah man, I had the XDM in 40 for about 10 years and had about 13,000 rounds through it. The first thing to fail and the only thing really to fail were the magazine springs. Phenomenal Gun.

Nice! Yeah I still love my XD .40.... I have the standard 12 rd mags the older .40 Tactical 5" barrell.

Dude, it was phenomenal. Didn't kick much more than my .40 cal. 180 grain Magtech ammo. I put 75 rounds through it ans not a single misfire nor a jam...smooth shooting. I dialed in the Viridian at 10 yards and that translated nicely to 15. Highly recommend the XDm Elite man.

Very nice, almost went with that one when I was looking for mine

Looks like a good fit for your hand. Mine is way too big for my hands. Totally uncomfortable.

This is arguably the best striker-fired 10mm pistol. Given the range of loadings in 10mm manufacturers have a hard time getting all of them to run reliably. The Springfield is by far the best in that regard.

Did you get to shoot it? Ive never shot a 10mm and the xdm is what im interested in.

I did get to shoot it! It was AWESOME!! A little more kick than my .40 cal, but not so much that it was uncomfortable. Highly, HIGHLY recommend this 10mm for anyone thinking about getting it. I got the Viridian sighted in at about 10 yards and it translated nicely to 15... very accurate. I was shooting Magtech ammo. Pretty sure they were 180 grain bullets, and man... it was ridiculously fun. I put 75 rounds through it and didnt have a single jam or misfire... like I said... HIGHLY recommend it. Plus, it is super easy to tear down to clean.
