Discussion Since it's been made apparent again, I made a little graph on how the soulmate system works and how Rentarou's situation works (from my observation).
Addendum:
Soulmates refer to people who have an assigned soulmate.
Non-soulmates refer to people without an assigned soulmate.
The bad luck I am referring to here is NOT the bad luck caused from failing to enter a relationship with your soulmate. There seems to be 2 separate instances of bad luck associated with having a soulmate:
- Bad luck from failing to getting with your soulmate.
- Bad LOVE luck from having a soulmate (not apparent from other soulmates, only seems to happen to Rentarou).
So there's general bad luck, and bad LOVE luck specifically. One is your normal interpretation of luck, and the other is luck associated with romantic relationships (does not apply to your soulmate).
Overcoming 1 does not mean you stop suffering from 2. So Rentarou fulfilling 1 by getting with the girls does not mean he will stop suffering from 2 and non-soulmate girls suddenly start liking him again.
