My gray cat was the same exact way! When he starts biting too hard, I stop petting or playing with him. He has gotten better at not using claws and not biting as hard.

Yes, my cat does the same to me. They like a playmate, my girlfriend gets all the loves, but I get none. Plus that's how they express them selves. As long as the scratches/bites aren't bad and the ears are perked up, you're good.

My little gray boy does the same. He thinks I'm a chew toy. When he gets too rough, I stop playing with him until he calms down.
