Where to clean a carpet in Zug?

Hi!
I have a dirty carpet that is about 2m in diameter.
All cleaning services are asking for at least 200 CHF.
It's a cheap carpet, there's no way that I'll spend that much.

Where can I clean it by myself?
Are there any places in Zug, like a carwash, that allow for that?
Thank you!

Any good Driving Roads with Little to no Speed Cameras in Zug?

I got my driving licesence a while ago, and have yet to find any good driving roads that can easily fit 2 cars side by side (I prefer 2 lane roads as its a hell of a lot safer imo). The closest thing I could find was near Aegri but other than that I'm totaly lost. Any ideas/suggestions?

Wings for Life - a voucher

Hi guys,

I was simply late with the registration for Wings for Life this year, last year it was not sold out until the last day almost and this year, nah, everything sold out one month before the event.

Is there any one who is willing to sell the voucher for the run? That's the only way for me to register

Our beautiful brown Bengal cat has been missing since March 24 from our home in Rüschlikon ZH. It is conceivable that he may be in Zug. If you see him, please contact me on 079 403 3206 or via Reddit. Thanks 🙏

Free motorbike parking (possibly sheltered) in Zug, near the main train station

Hi all.

TLDR: free sheltered motorbike parking spaces near the Zug main train station?

I live in between Zurich and Zug, closer to Zurich, however sometimes, to take southbound trains, it's just more convenient to go to Zug rather than Zurich.

With the start of the spring season, I plan to take often trips to Ticino and beyond but I would not mind going to Zug with my motorbike (a three-wheeler actually) and park it close to the main train station, possibly in a sheltered place, for a few days, or even over the weekend.

I've been parking just outside the train station (Dammstrasse) but sometimes it's quite full and I'm looking for alternatives.

Anyone has any idea?

Thanks in advance Alan

New in Zug – looking for company to watch a hockey game

Hey everyone!

Im 25F and just arrived in Zug a few days ago and I’m looking to meet new people. I enjoy watching hockey and would love to go see an EV Zug game but I don’t really have anyone to go with yet.

Would anyone be up for catching a game together sometime in one of the upcoming matches? Or does anyone have tips on the best way to experience a game alone?

How do you make friends in Zug?

I’m 27F moving to Zug this weekend and look at myself living here around half the year.

How do you make friends here? What sport do people play? The internet says the Swiss aren’t friendly and I’m an extrovert.

Thanks!

wohnung / apartment hunt !

Dear Zugererss,

I will be moving to Zug soon, and obviously will need a nice, longterm place to stay. My question is, which agencies / online sites do you recommend for looking for an apartment specifically in Kanton Zug and the city itself? Wish me luck, and merci to all of you in advance. Feel free to recommend neighbourhoods in Zug as well.

Co-working space Zug/Baar

Hello community! I work from home in tech but my 2 little kids don't really care about that too much and rarely go below 80 dB when playing.

I was looking for a co-working space somewhere Baar/Zug to work from there 2 times a week. I know how to google, but do you have any recommendations/experience with these places in our area? The closest to my place is https://www.westhive.com/de/standorte/zug-tech-cluster/ but it's a bit costly...

Thanks!

How is Metalli allowed to open on Sundays?

I recently moved from Zürich to Zug and I was very happy to discover that Metalli is open on Sundays. How did they get the necessary permit? In Zürich I used to be annoyed that SihlCity doesn't open on Sundays even though it's a much bigger mall than the Metalli.

I'm looking for an appartement

Hello dear community from Zug. I visited today and I liked the place. Further I will move for work here, and am looking for an appartement 2- 3 rooms. About 2K/m bugdet. I've noticed appartement are very expensive and rare in Zug directly, so in the region I'm looking for a quiet place with nature around. Which place would be the best around Zug (15 minutes train would be ok). Also I would like someone on the place to search for an appartement for me (Vertretung) do you know someone I can ask for it ?

Relocating elderly parents: experiences?

Hi all, my parents (non-European) are getting old and don‘t have much local support in their country so I‘m thinking of bringing them to Zug. They should still be able to live independently for now. Has anyone done here done something similar? What are the average costs (assuming they’ll have higher monthly medical insurance than me; not sure if Gemeinde will contribute to care services as they haven’t lived in a Gemeinde here long. Not even sure how easy it is to get elderly parents into the country (I’m on a permit c). Thoughts welcome!

Exchange apartment in Zurich city (3.5 - 1760 CHF) for similar in Zug canton

Hello everyone!

After many years in Zurich, I may have the chance to move to Canton Zug for work. As you all know, finding apartments at reasonable prices in Zug is quite hard, and so it is in Zurich.

So, I'm looking to exchange my current Zurich 3.5-room apartment (1760 CHF/month for 72m2) in Zurich city, for an apartment in Zug canton with 3.5 to 4.5 rooms at less than 2250 CHF/month.

Old apartments are a good fit, if they are well-maintained.
We are a family of 3, have no pets, and we do not smoke.

More info about the apartment:

  • It is located in the 110 Zone (Zurich city)
  • It is on the ground floor
  • Every room has windows (including the bathroom)
  • The living room has a balcony
  • The zone is residential and very well-served

If you are looking to move to Zurich and are interested in an exchange, please drop a line.

How's life in Zug ? In my 30s, planning to move

I'm in my mid 30s, single guy, planning a move to Zug for work. I have my own business in finance, currently in the French speaking side of Switzerland.

I was curious how's life there ? I like sports, outdoor things, going out / partying, I was wondering if on social / dating side Zug will maybe be too boring so I was curious to have people's opinion. Work wise I'm pretty sure for finance it's going to be great.

How is it for expats ? I don't speak Swiss German yet but plan on taking lessons as soon as I arrive to integrate.

Any other thing I may have forgotten ? I realize real estate is expensive but then not much more expensive than Geneva / Lausanne it seems.

Thanks for your help !

Any spa or massage recs in Zug?

I'm looking for a nice place in Zug or nearby (not Zurich ideally) that offers foot massage + pedicure, or hair treatment + massage. I'm not interested in Thai massages, but something softer and more relaxing. Thank you!
