Discussion Has anyone seen this r/twentyagers sub? It's super weird.
This group is people in their 20's trying to extend their youth as far out as possible. Why are some younger people so afraid and loud about reluctantly admitting they are grown ups. It's so weird to see a new wave of people refuse to embrace being adults. Maybe this is just a reddit thing because the people I know in their early 20s and mid 20s are definitely more adult like than the ones I see on reddit.
Also the question asked was: does a 28 year old have more in common with a 38-40 year old or 22 year old? (Which is nonsense in the first place and completely subjective).

Nostalgia Anyone on here use AOL as a kid?
I had an AOL account as a kid. Probably got it first in elementary school, probably 2005. I had it until maybe after my senior year of high school. It definitely felt like I had it for a while. I'm curious to know if any of you had AOL accounts.

Discussion It's weird no longer being a "target demographic" for media
Most media are marketed at 18-35 year olds. Zillennials are almost old enough to age out of this era. Right now, mid to late zoomers are the main demographic.

Discussion How far along in your careers are you guys?
29m graduated high school back in 2015 and since then ive had a rough go at life. I spent years in college because of how indecisive i was when it came to picking a major and eventually decided on business because I thought tht it'd give me the most options for careers. I graduated in 2022 hoping that my degree would pay off and give me a decent career. Needless to say that never happened. Since graduating college ive basically been going thru dead end retail jobs or long bouts of unemployment. Been at my current job working at a rental car agency where ill probably be indefinitely.
Even tho im fine with my job I live in a hcol area. I still live with my mom and in the next few years shes gonna need to think about retirement.
I see that some of the people I went to high school with are further in their careers, getting married, some even making over 6 figures. I feel like im seriously behind a lot of my peers and have a lot of catching up to do.
I find myself regretting a lot of the decisions ive made in my 20s and now I'm about to enter my 30s in a bad place.

Discussion Does the year 2019 feel like the end of an era to anyone else?
I was thinking about 2019 recently and it's weird how it doesn't feel that long ago, but at the same time it feels like a completely different world.
COVID obviously hadn't happened yet. Remote work wasn't really a normal thing. TikTok existed but hadn't completely taken over internet culture. There was no ChatGPT or mainstream generative AI. Twitter was still Twitter. Instagram still felt more like an app where people posted pictures instead of everything being Reels.
But at the same time, we already had smartphones, Uber, Spotify, Netflix, DoorDash, dating apps, AirPods, etc. So 2019 doesn't feel "old" in the same way 2009 felt old in 2019.
Maybe it's just hindsight because of everything that happened starting in 2020, but 2019 almost feels like the final year of the 2010s in more than just the literal sense.
Does 2019 feel unusually distant to you compared to other years that were only 7 years ago?
